ShowBoat's poker room. The smoking bar was about 30 feet away from the poker room and you can NOT smell any smoke.
People are of course welcome to be judgmental about it. But I do find it amusing that some posters have delusions that anyone cares whether they think slots players should be allowed to smoke on the casino floor. Your typical slots player is 55+ yrs old, 55+ lbs overweight, has 55% of her teeth, and smokes 55 cigarettes per day. This is the casino's ideal customer. The casino is going to do whatever it can to make this person comfortable while this person feeds her disability/pension/social security checks into the slot machine. That includes allowing smoking.
In a perfect world, smoking wouldn't be allowed anywhere but outdoors. But many private establishments still have the right to allow smoking on their premises. You can't blame Ari for his superiors doing the right thing for the bottom line. If the poker room is smoke-free, that's good enough for me and should be good enough for anyone who doesn't have a serious allergy to cigarette smoke.
EDIT to add: The point about the Showboat's room is a good one. I never smelled smoke there and the bar that is very close to the poker room allows smoking.
I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of game variety Parx gets this weekend and how it compares to DP's game variety. I'm hoping to see some LHE, PLO, and O8 games.
