Think about how your clothes smell when you get home after a long session....now imagine that layer on the inside of your lungs. I can't wait to get away from the smoke, sinus infections, and headaches - do you really think the average recreational player is a chainsmoker?

You are keeping more of your customers out than you are keeping in by dealing with the smoke. Just listen to the some of the long-term floor/dealer's voices...then ask if they smoke. Second hand smoke is a serious health issue that FW just refuses to address. There was a study on the air pollution done by an independent contractor that has since been removed from the web. Everyone should be allowed to smoke at their leisure, as long as it doesn't force other people too as well, against their will.

In other news Mohegan just implemented a new online poker arm of its business....let's see how long it takes Foxwoods to catch up this time. See you all on the virtual felt?

While you are googling Macau, try "Macau Smog". Sometimes you can't see 100 yards in front of you.

Hopefully Foxwoods gives some thought as to where to accomodate smokers when relocating room. When it was upstairs before smokers would line the hall to the bathroom (behind tourney cage). It was like going to fire fighter traing school to get to the bathroom. Just imagine the current set-up with no outside ventalation. At least where it is now some go outside, and even if they don't the ourside door opens frequently enough to vent it. Not sure what the solution is for upstairs.

BTW...I smoke cigars regularly. I don't have a disdain for smokers. I do think the non smokers, particularly the dealer forced to be there, shouldn't have to be around it. Really a non issue though. Smoking at tables isn't coming anytime soon. Just curious as to how smokers will be accomodated upstairs. Maybe in the emergency exit stairs area? The bathroom hallway is alwful solution. So is constant smoke right outside Noodles, the bakery and the buffet. Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Will also be interesting to see the solution for TVs.

Man, back in the heydey of upstairs poker there was smoking and eating at tables and those little food carts ****ing everywhere, like 3-4 at each table and blocking all the paths between tables. It was glorious!

Now it disgusts me to no end haha.

How did it feel to have the ability to smoke at the table? Assuming you both played and smoked at foxwoods poker back in the mid 90s. Were ashtrays on the table or off?? Did anyone ash on the table or ground, would you say the smoking brought in more customers or less, or that it was irrelevant?

Was it that bad for the non smokers back then? What was the general non smoker perception of the room that did not segregate smokers/non smokers

briefly for a time in my life I was a non-smoker and I must say the smell did not bother me, nor the health perception. If anything cigar smoke is usually heavier and more noticeable then cig smoke. I also know many non smokers who enjoy the smell of cigs so I guess its all personal perception. I for one really dislike the smell of certain foods but I would not tell someone to move if they are next to me in a food court

For those under the age of 30...where the low number tables are right now was smoking. Glad to hear the rumor about the room moving back upstairs

Same, I guess I feel like I might as well start smoking again with all of it wafting over from Baccarat and the rest of the pit upstairs. I don't have any disdain for smokers/smoking.....at times I choose to do it...just don't really understand why it's that hard to step outside, especially given the location of the gaming pit / poker room....it's less than a 60s walk. I'll try not to think about it too much next time the sun shines through the smog.

Have fun this weekend, with the tournament series and 250k+ bad beat, should be a blast!

Yah I used to smoke and fully supported the NYC smoking ban in bars when I was still a pack of day smoker. You are a moron if you think you have the right to smoke and subject the rest of the people around you to that ****. I mean lets face it, you are a moron to smoke in general. Doesn't make you a bad person and I wish you the best and hope you quit one day soon. It was one of the better life decisions I made after smoking for 8 some years.

I can't stand the older crowd who just puts it in everyoens face. but cheer up, cancer gonna come calling and those *******s will soon be dead (sorry grandma). I've told more than a few that in other instances.

Hello Troll, Im sure you are a wonderful person deep down though and I know alot of people who really love the smell of cigs, Idk what your getting at but cig smokers are generally very polite. The next time you see someone with a cig at the casino offer them a light Slingtown, if you dont have a light then just give them a smile!! Even if they are smoking by you they mean no harm and you should not tell that person this anti- smoking rhetoric as its not good for unity among people .

I have noticed the thinking levels of the anti smokers itt to be odd and not rationale , I mean I know the cigs smell but so do certain foods and automobile gas which is also bad for the body. If you sit down at the fox to play blackjack or roulette you know there will be smokers ...

So please I urge people to not influence the foxwoods casino to start ramping up more non-smoking sections. Its unfair and as a smoker I feel subhuman having to go off to some non smoking section. Also there must be smoking directly outside the poker room, I could not imagine as a valued customer having to walk so much as 30 seconds to the nearest smoke section

I didn't want to come across as a troll. Foxwoods should have sections for smoking but they should keep them in places away from he non-smokers. Not gonna debate the smoking as I've said how I feel and that I will stand up and tell someone to get that **** out of my face. But I was one too so I understand your feelings and apologize if I offended you. I work on being a good person each day.

But back to FW if they move that **** upstairs I will hope its non-smoking and I hope it's away from the room so the non smokers aren't subjected to he smoking. I will voice that opinion to floor etc. I hope others join me. You have the right to do so do but the smoker is a dying breed.

Same here. I don't know of any room that gets louder than Showboat in AC. The only people that pick up when the band starts are nits I am glad to see leave anyways.

Loud music gets the drinks flowing and the chips spewing.
