It's because of that that I applied 99% to the slot play value, and 49% on the free bet value. Obviously varies by specific game, I wasn't gonna be nitty about the % and just ballparked to make my point that slot play > free bet.
Why is the free bet only worth 49%? Can't you use it on blackjack where the house edge is only ~2%? What am I missing? Thanks.

The free bet is like the promo chips, they take it even when you win, so it's only half the return. Example (even money bets):

You bet $100 free bet and lose - you have nothing
You bet $100 free bet and win - you have $100

You bet $100 slot play and lose - you have nothing
You bet $100 slot play and win - you have $200

Planning to come this weekend to play cash game. Ideally from Friday night to Saturday evening. I don't plan to sleep much but still need a room for 5 hours of sleep and a shower. The price they would charge for a room I would barley use seems a bit silly. Any tips? Would it be possible to call and ask for a heavily discounted room? Is it possible to make a proposal about the price? (I guess not but who knows)

So what you are saying is you need a hotel room?

Possible to make a proposal?? Absolutely yes you can always try. Likely to be accepted, ahhhh not so much.

If cost is a factor and you dont care about features/amenities/etc there are a number hotels in the area. Im a hotwire fan but I suppose priceline works as well. ymmv.

Probably not likely to be accepted even though it would be a win win deal. Say an empty room cost them 30 bucks per night, proposing to take the room for, say 100 bucks, would be a good deal. They get some $$ put of it and I play poker longer (more rake for them).
Especially since the demand shouldn't be high for the weekend.
Indeed, unlikely to be accepted since everyone would start to bargain like rug sellers for rooms! 😀

I don't know what you mean by the demand shouldn't be high. Foxwoods sells out on most Fridays and Saturdays. I just looked online and the rack rate at Two Trees for Friday night is $199. That's cheap. You're almost never going to see cheaper on a weekend night without a player rated discount.

You can probably find a dark corner somewhere where you can shut your eyes for a few hours without being hassled, although you're on your own for a shower.

I don't know if Foxwoods has this (and since it seems like it sells out Fri/Saturdays, it likely doesn't), but a lot of hotels have half day rates. You could check with hotels in the area to see if any of them have something like that.

I do this fairly regularly when I just want a few more hours of sleep Sunday morning but don't want the room or need it for a full day

Am I seeing this right? 90+ tables? I thought poker was dead!

I always wondered when I get a room at Foxwoods about the little lounge areas they have in the halls. If you went up and sat back in a nice comfy chair; you'd think they'd actually wake you up?! Elevators from the casino level go right to the room floors. I imagine you'd be able to sleep long enough before someone talks with you no?!

They are having their once a month high hand every hour event. The room always fills up with folks looking to score a high hand and walk away. I'm mixed toward how I feel with the game play during this. It is a different game since everyone is looking to get 'lucky' with the high hand.

Last time I went I think they had 101 tables at the peak just before dinner time.

In 2 billion years they will not discount a room late at night on Fri-Sat. I've asked if there was occupancy at 1AM.... Yes.... Discount ? Never..... And I was doing over 100 nites a year and eating in all the restaurants....

I solved that situation by going to Borgata instead

The second part of your plan is to wait for people to leave at 10:45am with their luggage. Most everyone begins to walk away prior to door shutting behind them. I'm not saying I would stick my foot out to keep the door open for a quick shower and nap but you probably could.

Lol! Pretty good. I was actually talking about "Flylikeabird" and his question about half room rates and such. I just forgot to quote him. I like the way you think thou!
