this! Bobby is always in a cheerful mood and brings a lot of good to the room. Its good to see a player like him trucking along and making it this far in the ME. He got on the nerves of andy frankenberger pretty bad. He was small blind and BB raised AI after 3 limps (including Bobby). While frankenberger was thinking Bobby shouts "damn I have the best hand by far and i'm probably going to have to fold it now" Boy oh boy did that cause some drama. You can tell he wasn't trying to shoot an angle or do anything by it and just didn't know better but it was quite comical. Everyone ended up folding it, Bobby being AQ suited and if he had called would have been against AJ off with 13 players to go. He's still in it though so I can't question any decisions he's made so far.

This is a rule that foxwoods does not have right, unlike the rest of the world. (Maybe, because OP does not detail position)

In most cash games, when there is no betting on 5th street, the order is not who was the last better on earlier streets, but in order of left of the button. If the villian was first to act, then anyone after is allowed to muck. Here the villian acted first, and especially with the nuts, is the correct thing to do.

Having said that, asking to see cards is his right, he called and paid to see them.

I disagree that this applies in this situation. In most cases where no betting occurred on 5th, it's because it was checked around. The person in earliest position does initiate the last valid action on that street (the check), which is why he shows first.

In the situation that occurred, there was no action on 5th because it wasn't possible - all action was finalized on the flop. And the last valid action was initiated by OP (the all-in), which is why it's on him to show first.

I agree. It was good of him to fastroll given he had the nuts. Which makes his request even more egregious. If he wanted to see his hand, why fastroll? Just sit and wait for him to show first.

ETA: This being Foxwoods, it's one of those rules where it doesn't matter what's correct, only what that particular dealer/floor *thinks* is correct.

FWIW, villian limped KTo utg and I was bn.

I saw some guy wait with the nuts to see villains hand. I got no problem either way. Just wanna be clear when I get into another situ and want to muck or whatever. In the future, I really have no probs showing down bluffs or whatever since I can adjust to my image or my perceived image without worry. But I am very concerned with being an ethical player at the table following the rules and proper Etiquette so I am cool to the other players at the table. Don't want to be 'that guy' for sure.

Just thought it was weird that 2 different dealers gave conflicting info (although it really shouldn't be weird for f/w. lol)

I hadn't played any poker in like 2 months until this past w/e so I forgot the rules and I'm used to playing online anyways where u don't think about it and get to see the hand anyways.

BTW, I think the break was great for my game. I never felt so good at the tables and my reads were great. No fear either. No tilt.

Took some shots at 5/10nlhe and it went fairly well. Was able to get in a few thin value bets that got paid by stations. My only squeeze didn't go too well although I thought it should work when I ended up seeing villains hands based on my image at the time. Kinda surprised at how bad the players were at my table but maybe I just ran good with table selection.

The toughest table of the w/e for me was a shorthanded 1/2nlhe very aggro table with lots of 3bets, sticky players, river overbets with merged range, etc.

Good times. I hope to play some more soon.

Sorry, IMHO this is incorrect...
If a player wants to muck no matter where he is in the order of showdown, the dealer can not turn them over. There is no correction for "supposed to show first" if the second player wanted to see his cards, he can just wait for the first person to turn over his cards. Also mention in this thread, and countless others, is that the second player paid to see his cards, well nope. You don't pay to see someones cards, you pay to win the pot.

As long as Foxwoods doesn't have an all-in players must turn over their hands in a cash game rule, and with no IWTSTH rule, then there is no situation that the dealer can turn over a hand of a player who wishes to muck.

i'm going to clarify this with the Shift manager on friday to get you guys a "definitive" answer... whatever that means for Foxwoods. Things like this and bringing it up to them so they can bring it up to the floors can hopefully get more people on the same page. I would have to agree with what Lattimer stated though.

Huge Congrats to Bob Carbone for taking down 3rd place in a field of pros and other great locals like himself in the Main Event. 166k isn't a bad cash for 5 days of work!

Been living down here since sunday due to no power. So many kids running around it feels like Vegas. Hotels were booked solid as a result but I got to hand it cs as they let me change my scheduled free nights to Monday and Tuesday to better accomadate me. Often times people only post gripes here.

Was a record set for 2011 WPF?
Not only was it the lowest number of runners, it was also the non tipping final table!
Makes it more disappointing the fact that 2 of the FT players are regulars at the woods! lol

He is a good guy. Talking about his hand is typical fwoods regular speak, its gross in the real world.

i loved the final table hand more than that, action folded around to seat 1 Steven Brackery (small blind) who raises to 43,000. (blinds were 8k-16k). Daniel Santoro on the big blind three bets to 144,000 (something in that area maybe it was 143k). Steven 4 bets to somewhere around 260,000. Daniel 5 bets!!! 5 bets to 440k! At this point, would you fold A4 clubs after the big blind just 5 bet your butt? lol
Nope, Steven 6 bet shoved all in and Daniel instantly called with his Q's. What an action hand, loved every second of it. No help for Brackesy tho, upset about that :/

might be one of the worst plays on the final table of a big tournament... especially considering chip stack sizes at that moment

I agree! Especially seeing how he played for 5 days didn't think he would of done that, considering he was sitting on a very good stack with Bob as the short stack. Felt bad he got knocked out cause as always it would of been nice to see a regular of Foxwoods take the tourney down

Can someone let me know how the poker black card qualification works? As of 3 days ago I had 5 poker days left according to the kiosk. Checked today after playing the past 2-3 days and it says I have played 2 poker days total and ~450hrs remaining. I thought it was supposed to be 500hrs +75days in one rolling year, it seems mine has reset for some reason????

Is this just a glitch it doesnt make sense to me that I was so close and it just reset to zero for no reason?

I tried to ask the people at the dream reward booth but they were clueless, and I didnt want to bother the floor during the day while they were busy, I figured this was the best place to find out!

thanks!

Just spent the last 36 hours at Foxwoods. HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!! Went to Burke for lunch on Tuesday. The buffalo chcken sandwich with blue cheese was awesome. Then went to watch the final table. Unfortunately, the one person that I did not want to win, did but it was delighted to find out that Ali Nejad is the coolest guy on the planet. Funny, smart, down to earth. I was pleasantly surprised.
Played some late night 2/5 then while walking back to MGM at 3am, I ran into Tony Dunst, who is also very cool. Got a pic and a cool story.
Got a few hours of sleep, ran over to BBP at Mohegan, came back and played more 2/5. Met expiredcoupon and Iraise69(perv name, btw), BUrke for dinner then home!

Great trip

1) Not super surprising imo - 3 of the guys are/were big online players and/or travel to play lots of 10ks, and along with everyone else had some terrible experiences with Foxwoods floors/etc. I mean wtf, NOT SERVING BOOZE TO THE PEOPLE WATCHING THE FINAL TABLE?? Knowing a few higher ups in the WPT production crew, they were PISSED about this and didn't know wtf foxwoods problem was.

Also, they were told 3% (i believe) was also taken out already, so they didn't feel the need to tip.

2) This was a wild hand. Being good friends with Dan - and driving up to be there along with others for the whole final table, waiting for them to put up the rest of the pictures cause we had one where we all lifted him up in a chair after the victory - I know that he has a reputation as being a complete maniac/aggro player, but he's almost never 3betting light in this situation, and NEVER 5 betting less than JJ+/AK+

Boo! He's a home grown 2+2er!

Although seeing Bob the next morning at 5/10nl warmed my heart, he'll be feeding those games for awhile.

The online system was down for a couple hours yesterday morning. They were changing/updating stuff in the system. I agree that it's likely just a glitch. Look forward to your report.

I still can't believe how everybody still believes that 3% somehow goes to the dealers of every tourney... That is NOT the case... the 3% is just extra rake for the house, its always been. Its "Tournament Staff", meaning it goes into payroll account to pay cashiers, floormen and dealers base rate. No way no how would the casino give that 3% off the top to the dealers. Just saying.

Just want to remind you that 3 days ago was October, and now it's November. So your days/hours balances will decrease by whatever you did last November (you lost last November's stats on Tuesday). I know that doesn't account for what you're seeing, but just saying.

You are blaming the players for not knowing that? How could they? If that 3% is straight rake, then it should be noted as such in the entry fee, and the entry should be $9,400 + 600 or whatever it comes out to. When 3% is withheld for 'tournament staff', outside of the rake, the implication is that money would go to the floor and dealers who ran that specific tourney.

Well, Mad Maniac should pass the info along to CHarder and Santoro so that they can rectify this.
