I just booked my free rooms for September. I'll post again closer to then but I'm hoping for some good PLO or OE action. PLO didn't run at all during my last trip but 10/20 OE and 50/100 OE ran. Also, I'm kind of bummed my free Sundays were taken away

^^^

I swung by near the end of the 1/2 plo game. Only 3/4 handed at the time. If I hadn't been grinding NL the previous 10 hours, I would have.

Well Saturday hotels are sold out. So if you're trying to book both nights, that's why it's not working.

I don't think the codes work the night before. Should be the day of the mega so Saturday(if available) they should work but not this Friday.

Your average points earned per visit is important. So if you're going to go and only play 5 hours of poker and nothing else, you might be better off not swiping your card at all. Once I stopped clocking in on my poker only day trips, my comps got better.

Your activity from approximately two months ago is weighed the heaviest as to what you will get today if you're a regular. If you're not a frequent visitor but you haven't accepted offers in a while, you'll continue to get some worth approximately the same amounts of the ones that you missed in the past.
My dad hasn't gone in over a year, and he still has the same comps that they were offering him a year ago. But I'm finding that I get better stuff if I earned a lot of points per visit on average about two months prior.

If you're playing something past 3am in the morning but not booking a room, they're more likely to comp you rooms over other junk (I'd much rather have rooms).
I used to not get free rooms, but I would sometimes take a bus in the middle of the night after I was done with my poker session past 3am. Then, a couple months later, free room offers started showing up.

If your home address is far away, that is not in convenient commute distance, they're more likely to comp you rooms.
I had some friends visit me, and we went to Foxwoods for a couple days. They told me they were getting offers for free rooms even though they barely played anything, because their addresses were thousands of miles away. Not fair lol.

Or maybe it's just random
Wish I knew. I can tell you who DOES NOT get rooms. People who play 5-10 hours poker only per week, live 1 hour away, and don't pull slots. If I could ever snag some free rooms I would play longer, but w/out the room.....when I need a rest, have to drive home. Dont think they really care too much about poker only players.....

I really dont know how it all works, but Im thinking it might have to do with qualifying points....I started playing 20-30 hours a week of 5/10 NL May 1st, and got comped rooms June,July,Aug, and now september.....when I play I usually get in 8-10 hours, thus getting over 15 qualifying points per day....I think thats the key - try to get those qualifying sessions in otherwise its prob worthless

FW just lost me to the Borgata.

The latter is unfortunately a 4-hour trip (from the east end of Long Island), whereas Foxwoods is a 3-hour trip. I also have to deal with the Belt Parkway and Staten Island, which are a bear. Furthermore, most of the trip to and from FW is spent not driving (ferry and bus connection). Despite that, I don't see the value in putting up with the horrible offers (September $70 TT/$90 PEQ rooms) when I can go to a better poker room and control the arrival/departure times.

If FW offered something worthwhile, there wouldn't be a switch.

Honestly what you just described is me exactly and i get two free rooms per week, every week, sun-thurs all year for the last three years so far at least. Cant describe why i still get the room comps since there are periods of months sometimes between visits. Maybe i just fell through the cracks and eventually the system will catch up to me but....

You're doing Foxwoods a real disservice here. They're 12 packs!

After you guys pick up the 12 pack of Pepsi, where do you put it if you don't have a room or a car there because you took a bus trip and was just planning to pull an all-nighter? I would feel kind of awkward lugging a 12 pack of Pepsi all over the casino, which is why sometimes I haven't even bothered picking mine up.

I see lots of people lugging around their gifts, several hours later, sometimes even the next day.

The OP mentions 5/10 H/L w/kill but I think they've been running it 4/8 with a HK for years now.....

The 5/10 w/kill has pretty much supplanted the 4/8 half kill. Better game, mostly the same players. (I just checked FW website, and the 5/10 is running right now.)

Thanks MJ88, when did this change happen? I haven't played at the Woods in maybe half a year, but last I knew it was always 4/8 with the HK

About half a year ago.

On Pepsi day it might be worth it to take a trek to the coat check area (above the bus lobby), there will be hundreds of tagged cases of Pepsi stacked up in there. Somebody post a pic!

The last O8 4/8 HK I played was at the end of March, they switched it to 5/10 FK a little bit after that. I love O8, but I just can't play it there when it's 1 table with the same 4-6 regulars and another 2-3 older nits (yes even older than the regulars).

The action does get good with 2 tables going tho. I showed up last Sat in time for the 2nd full table start, but e1 leaves like in 45 mins lol. I don't know what e1 was expecting, the action was pretty good while it lasted.

Yeah, I remember the game could be hit or miss. There's a number of too-tight regulars (some with foul attitudes) that can make for an unenjoyable and unprofitable game.

I definitely found the later evening sessions to be better when compared to the early morning crowd, although sometimes if you come later in the day you wait forever for a seat, or at least you did.

Love playing against "sweater" and Kenny though, they just throw their chips at you.

One older guy particularly, he's short and reminds me of a bird. He is always trying to recruit people and act like he's gods gift to omaha.
