There’s a coat room. I think you’d have better luck there.

Specifically for the poker room or? Will a briefcase get totally negged by the “no backpack” rule?

Is there some sort of rule against checking your bag with the bell captain if you're not a hotel guest? That would be unusual.

Yes, I’ve experienced that in Vegas (nothing a tip can’t fix), but am a bit more worried here because of the apparent enhanced security.

1/3 NL is the smallest N/L game spread.

Less than average.

I may try to pack everything in my briefcase and take my chances.

Exactly this desire. Also I heard some poker players who meet up from out of town and Airbnb. Not sure how they got together but $50 a day is great deal.

No. But parking you have to drive around to park then walk in the parking lot.
If you go valet then is a straight shot to poker room no hassle.
Is a 90 second walk with a normal pace. Just timed it and there were many people in the way to dodge. Just saying

Meaning you don’t have a car you are driving in? Cuz there’s a coat check that I believe is free. I’m sure you can offer a tip and the place being so accommodating to guess should help you.

The games are bad at 10-20 and very mediocre at 5-10, Its still early so the dealers and cage will get better but am surprised there isn't much new blood in any of the higher NL games

I played 30 hours the last 3 days but maybe the weekend will bring out the fish but there are a lot of ppl trying to grind out a living at Encore at 5-10 and up
$9 per half hour at 5-10 is quite steep. If I’m not mistaken, TR is 7, and Borgata is 6. This high rake is not justified, particularly when many of the dealers are so slow.

Is anyone surprised this room has no big games as of yet? Even the 80/160 has not gotten off the ground.

They have a hotel and a bellhop. I’d call first to confirm but I don’t think it should be a problem to accommodate travelers being that we are so close to a major airport.

There isn’t a “no backpack” rule. Security reserves the right to search backpacks but as long as it is clean you can bring them.

Going today, what are the closest food options to the poker room? Decent food/quick service?

Closest option would be ordering off of the menu at the table. There's a Dunkins directly downstairs, and a burger bar around the corner. The buffet is visible from the room. I haven't really ventured far from the poker room to find the rest.

The poker room has a dedicated kitchen with a somewhat limited menu but everything I've had these past 4 days has been excellent. It is a bit pricey (of course) however unlike the cocktail service the food comes out super quick so long as you avoid the after work rush from around 5:30-8:30pm when it will take longer.

$25/$50 NL isn’t a big game? It ran last night.

Pretty sure 80/160 ran next to my 10/20 NL table on Sunday as well. I mean it's midweek. Let's see what the games look like tonight and through this weekend.

Have you guys found there's a higher than otherwise number of people that are called and don't report for the seat? Mainly due to them signing up at home gambling they will still be on the list by the time they get there?

I remember more than one 80/160 ran on Sunday at least.

Dunkin is perfect if you want a $5 snack option. Additionally, there's a coffee bar next to the shuttle entrance (east entrance) that has some food options. Had a pretty good chicken quinoa salad for $13 the other day. I also got a $3 Oatmeal Cookie because the sign said 'World's Best Cookies' so you know how much would you pay for potentially the best cookie in your life?? Haven't checked out the options at Garden Cafe but it is close to the poker room, west end of gaming floor maybe.

I've never waited for a seat.

Dunkin Encore Boston Harbor Casino (Everett, MA) - FAQ in OP

I bought the quinoa chicken salad to take home for dinner on Wednesday night. Thank God I did because that needed some help. Added diced cucumber and a heaping handful of feta and it was then edible.
I ordered from the Garden Cafe(to go, to take back to poker room) Ordered the ahi tuna roasts and it was amazing at $19. The staff was also very very helpful and put a rush on my order after I informed them of the 30 minute rule.

Yea I'm coming from the airport and staying nearby but don't really want to have to go to my hotel just to check in/drop off my stuff. If there's no actual ban on backpacks like i thought there was i'm a lot less worried.

Poker atlas has shown an 80/160 stud game going with a wait list as well at least since I woke up this morning. Not bad for early morning on a Friday, no?
