Is drink service slow because they didn't expect so many people to be playing and they would all want drinks? I wasn't sure if some girls quit because they don't like the job thinking it is a waitress job like working the Cheesecake Factory. Is it like the cashiers where they are afraid of screwing something up and being fired?

Are backpacks strictly not allowed?

If I want to have a laptop in a bag with me, what are my options?

I think drink service is being heavily scrutinized because of the 4 am license. It's new and controversial and they're not trying to overserve while all eyes are on them. I suspect that's the reason behind the 3:15 last call on a 4 am license too.

But it’s slow during daylight hours as well

I seriously think Encore has underestimated how much business the poker room gets before noon because until then the lists are long and it’s like a unicorn sighting if you find a cocktail waitress

Rake is high especially when we are getting all the new dealers at 5-10NL with a 9$ rake
Dealers horrible
Cage horrible
Floor is very good

Mix isn't allowed yet and there aren't many Limit games

The games are bad at 10-20 and very mediocre at 5-10, Its still early so the dealers and cage will get better but am surprised there isn't much new blood in any of the higher NL games

I played 30 hours the last 3 days but maybe the weekend will bring out the fish but there are a lot of ppl trying to grind out a living at Encore at 5-10 and up

This is what everyone really wants to know lol.
I didnt play 2/5 but I saw nothing remotely like that at 5-10NL, I didnt play the 10-20 because I heard it was so bad also which really surprises me

Still waiting for an update on this also! Anyone since Sunday walk in with any size backpack yet? Was it ok? Any red coats ask about it or warn you not to bring again?

Thank you so much for this info. I hope that translates into someone that flies in from out of town and will spend 10-12 hours per day playing in their poker room @20-40HLE or higher has a decent shot at getting to stay on site for less than the $500 and $800 per night as previously posted.

Thanks again for the info. Beat em up at the tables. Lots of luck.

Compare it to the 4 seasons in boston.
Avg room at 4 season is 400 sqft for 500 night avg.
Smallest room is encore is 650 sqft for $640 avg.
Oh wow. One poster buoyed my hopes with receiving $139 per night offers and now you've dashed them with this. *sigh*

Well I'm not going to deal with a lot of bs to play there, i.e. traffic, off site hotels and parking nightmares just to fight my way in from out of town.
There still is Vegas, after all.

Not free but gd, paying $500 - $800 and up per night to play poker there is ludicrous and makes it a moot point to consider flying in from halfway across the country just to play there. I can afford it but I would seethe at the tables knowing I was giving them 12-14 hours of rake/time every day and still pay so much for the privilege of laying my head down on one of their, for those prices, gilded in gold bed pillows. A girl has to have some semblance of self-respect and not be royally shafted just to get some Boston action.

Well I guess I will have to just play vicariously through you guys. Wish I were there.

There are A LOT of options all within a 1-2 miles of the casino, both hotel and AirBnb. On the high nicer side, EnVision Hotel in Everett is super nice, $250/night, $8 Uber. Mid range there's a DoubleTree Hilton around 1.5 miles away, in the $160-180/night range, $10 Uber. And then below that there's a few "cheaper" hotels.

Overheard the floor saying 5 or 6 cocktail waitresses quit Tuesday and another 5ish quit Wednesday in the poker room. Issues with the wait staff in the buffet as well. Think I overheard that they were pooling tips which people dont like. They said one girl dropped her tray tuesday and quit on the spot in the poker room.

Thank you! EnVision sounds perfect! Going to their site now.

So the valet drop-off area is closer to poker room than garage?

There is an elevator from the garage that drops you right into the poker room

I imagine it may get worse after the WSOP is over when more regs return home or think Encore is worth a try? The 5-10 game that I normally play (far from Boston) has not been good in a long time, too many regs.

Poker room is awesome. I didn't play long, but there were no issues with drink service. Play was typical at my table . A few rookies mixed in with regs (1-2 NL).

There were a lot of tables going. Maybe 30. Stud, PLO, Limit Hold-Em were all running. Some high levels too.

Lots of video poker. Dollar machines were 8-5. Five dollar machines were 9-6, full pay. Plenty of other VP varients such as "X", spin poker and others.

Had a coffee and sandwich at Dunks. They do not accept Encore points for purchases.

Left around 9PM and traffic was not an issue. Tons of cops directing the flow at every stop sign, light and rotary.

All in all an awesome vegas-style casino. And only 20 minutes away for me !
So they do have 1/2 NL? I thought I read earlier in this thread that there is no 1/2 NL.

Gonna check it out tomorrow -- what are my chances of ditching my suitcase with the valet for a few hours while I play? Not a hotel guest but more than willing to throw them a $20 tip
