Steamers, muscles and shrimp **** tale are great value. Throw in a salad that's about all I get when I go to the regular one. There is always descent selection at the amphora. For $10 comp dollars how can you beat it?

Oh no, A-Rod?

That really sucks.

He used to bust my balls about all my sports teams and I would bust his back. Adios amigo.

Since I got promoted, I have not been down and my lack of action has reduced my comp room to one night instead of two. I guess I deserve that. Second night either $59 or $79 depending on when I book, so not an awful deal. $79 for two nights at the Borg is still pretty sweet.

Hey I may be jumping ahead here so if I missed this in a recent thread I apologize but..

Can you still pre-register for tournaments? Literally a week ago I saw on the web site you could, but I told myself I'd do in a week to make sure I was heading down. Now I no longer see the option and the FAQ says registration begins 2 hours before tournament....

first time i went, i actually didn't think i would like. the gf was saying how badly she wanted to go there. we shared multiple tapas and i got the filet, which was like $46. It came with 4 different homemade sauces to dip in. Right now, that filet is the best i've ever had. they don't even have a filet on the menu in philly. hard to believe but it is highly recommended

Finally activated my account online (I played for a couple of hours in May while the Mrs and a friend did tourist stuff). Have a full day to come over on Friday but see my whopping $3 in comps expire Thursday. First bad beat of the session.

(moved to Philly about a year ago).

the food at borgata is quite good except fatburger, I have seen things in the front that are dangerous to your health...avoid fatburger. Borgata has the best food in all other respects. $10 comp for buffet or amphora is the best!!

I like a medium hamburger as much as the next guy, but ground beef processing in general isn't so good in this world. A wanna be upscale chain like fat just isn't gonna take enough care.

Will borgata ever go to 9 max cash games? Seems like its only 9 max if its 5-10nl and 40/80 limit holdem...

Is every casino in AC for poker 9 players?

Like you said 9 handed holdem is only for 5-10 and above, most AC casinos have 10 max only games, I cannot think of any that have 9 but others might know of some. 10 makes sense cause if you have 2-3 people go for dinner and a couple walk you are now playing 5-6 handed and right away people are complaining and they want to break a table, if it was 9 max the problem would get worse playing 4-5 handed.

It doesn't do Borgata any good whatsoever to let their huge 1-2NL and 2-5NL player pool go online and be isolated and carved up when jerseyshore-nanonoko21 and all his buddies replicate 16 times at every seat in the house and fleece their cash cow.

Remember, they want that guy to have money left in his pocket to play live poker and craps.

The online revenue becomes only one piece of the puzzle (not the ONLY piece like it is with Stars and Tilt.)
Great point cLOROX. Its going to be interesting to see how they handle this. It would be nice to have at least one casino choose to do things like limit multi-tabling and ban HUD's since there will inevitably be other casinos in AC (once they are all up-and-running online) that will choose to go the other direction and encourage as much volume as possible. Like I said, I am very interested to see what happens. TWO MORE WEEKS!!

tropicana recently switched to 9-handed. but like you said... east coast games are typically 10-handed. and for my money it's better... again for the same reasons you stated. people leave frequently. playing shorthanded and not being able to bring in new players sucks. you want money on the table in play. 10 handed is good imo.

Meh, generally like 9 handed better, certainly more physically comfortable at the table if nothing else. The house needs to limit walking (3rd man has 10 min limit, etc).

T-2 days for first full session at Borg. 10 handed here I come.

I was told by some of the players that they get together on Wednesdays to play. I played once on a Wednesday but haven't noticed it going on other days.

That is dumb.

A talented player should make more money the fewer players are seated since you play more hands in position as a function of time.

Also, 10 handed is just physically cramped.

You also play more hands out of position, so you need to rethink that justification.

Poker tables come in different sizes.

Yes, but if you are a winning player more hands per hour = more money per hour.

The regs were trying to get this going regularly during the day on Wednesdays when I was there last month.

I agree, better players like to play 6 max 4 max or heads up, anybody can play 9-10 max, play tight and wait for the donkey to pay you off.

And on another note anybody have a lot of comps missing this weekend? Seems like I only got credited $28.50 when I should have gotten $35.50 in comps, guess I must have been swiped out early and never known.

i'm not claiming to a be a good player lol. i play 1-2 primarily! my default style is pretty tight and patient and certainly geared to a larger field. however, i will make an argument that even for good players, wouldn't you want more money in play at the table? especially at low stakes where you get everyone desperate to see a flop?

i can see an argument for playing short handed... however if you prefer a table to have 9 active players.. then 10 handed is the way to go as a player or two are almost always absent.
