I believe it's $100-$500 or maybe $200-$500. And yes, it's unofficially a $5 bring-in. Once on a brand new table we had one guy who insisted on playing it as a true $1-2. He called the floor and they said they couldn't enforce the $5 bring-in if someone complained, so the max open was $7 or $8 instead of $15. He was felted in the first rotation and that was that, $5 from then on, and it's been the same every other time I've played it.

I have no idea about running it 3x. I've only played cash games there once recently and it never came up.

Not sure of the min, but it is less than $200. I thought the max was $600? Or did the table just allow me to buy max???

Still a $2 bring in though, and will remain if you have a dealer that is a little more particular about actually following the rules.

No running in at 1/2 PLO more than once.

Just curious, what room rates people are getting for New Year's Eve or New Year's week in general?

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of simple questions:

1) Are any of the PLO games played in the high limit room?

2) It sounds like straddles are now allowed at the Borgata. What are the rules? UTG only? Double the big blind only?

Thanks in advance.

5/5+ PLO is in the high limit room. You are correct about both straddle questions.

Parx gets it right with one $5 blind. Same size game as $2/3, and no white chip headaches.

Agreed. Plus mostly clueless players. Other than a few, Parx PLO is typically at least five dudes buying in short, getting it in with two pair and no redraw. I wish the game ran every night. I hear it does in Charlestown -- wonder what the secret is to getting a consistent game.

Put it in the middle of the 2/5 games, would be a start.

Just curious, any reason why Omaha H/L starts at 10/20? Has anybody ever tried starting a lower stakes Omaha or O8 game?

That's what I saw last week, but now suddenly, it says $59 for NYE?!?!

I think this is a glitch on the MBR system? I average about 10 hours/day playing 2-5 and 5-10, so I'm not a baller or anything. Worried that if I book it, it'll come up as the normal price when I check in and I'll have to either pay that price or sleep in a rat infested motel 20 miles away on NYE. Also worried that If I call Borgata to ask, they'll fix the error and I can't take advantage of the rate, lol. I'm leaning on just calling them to find out...

Charles Town is $5-5, but yes it runs very consistently. Usually not many short stacks though in my experience. It's $500 - $2K.

But yes, single $5 is a great alternative to $1-2. Certainly better than $1-2 with an unofficial $5 bring-in. Unless you just really want to offer a lower buy-in game like $300-max, in which case just do a true $1-2 game with white chips pre-flop, red chips post-flop.

I don't remember - how does Borgata treat the SB in $2-5 PLO? Rounded up for pot-size open to $20?

You realize that's $10-20 Limit, right? I've seen very short interest lists for I believe $1-2 or $2-5 PLO/8. I'm not there very often so it may run sometimes, I just don't know.

I should say, I assume you're talking about the $10-20 Limit. That runs very regularly at Borgata. I've played that and a couple times a few years ago they were running a pink chip $7.50-$15 Limit game.

1-2 min is 100 max 500.
5 dollar bring in allows small/big blind to be rounded up to 5 total.

2-5 and up you can run it twice only if its heads up. i believe you can officially run it up to 4 times but i've never seen more than twice, and they only run out the turn and river on the 2nd, 3rd, etc. time.

the bring in of 5 not only makes the game more juicy but makes it easier for the dealers if there's a huge multi-way all-in pot. its just more convenient. but it also just makes more sense to always make the game 2-5 at least because then its timed raked and you can run it twice, buy in for 1000, etc. it does not make any sense to buy in to a PLO game with any less than 200 anyway (i don't even think 200 is enough even for a 1-2-(5) game.)

NYE just became a comp for me, was something like $699 last I checked.

The 5/5 PLO runs almost daily at Ctown, 2 tables most Fridays and Saturdays. Average stacks are usually $1k-$5k once the game matures. Not many people buying in at the $500 min but some do.

If you play enough and book it early enough, NYE can be comped

Great question. I really enjoy playing non-hold 'em games (and playing at Borgata), but getting these games going is a challenge. Unfortunately, there just insn't that much interest. Many of us here have tried and failed to get all types of games (O8, stud h/l, OE, HOSE, etc.) and limits (4/8, 5/10, and pink chip) going regularly. Sad but true.

It seemed like 5/10 O8 was going for a while, then it died off. I think it's a logical feeder game for the 10/20. Honestly, I think if the floor pushed the game a little it could go, at least on weekends.
