Keep your sessions +4 hours and you will be fine.

Could it seriously be better for my comps if I just played the 10 hours and didn't clock in for the other two?
Just get up from table right after dealer change and they deal you 1 hand. This will give you about 1 to 1-1/2 hours before they will pick up your chips. That's plenty of time to get a meal and coffee in the morning. Plus it's running time for comps.

Yea I know this now but sadly most of Jan-Mar consisted of me playing 1.5-4 hour sessions before work. I think the sheer amount of short sessions I played is what is gonna mess me up for the foreseeable future.

it is not about diluting play, it is all about average daily play, 6 AM to 5:59 AM.
You are better off playing 10 hours at Borgata one day and one hour somewhere else the next day. 10 hours average daily play will get you farther than 5.5 hours...

If you are getting 100 hours a month every month in the poker room, you should be getting free weekends.

They don't put you into Lobby when you miss a blind?

what?

Maybe I've picked up too much bad grammar, but to the specific (albeit statement worded) question, the answer would be no from everything I've learned.

Regardless of the grammar police... Really? You mean I can leave for up to 90 minutes, come back, play a hand, then leave for 90 more and get credit for 3 hours of play for folding one hand out of the Big Blind?

I think it depends on what game you're playing. This is true at 10/20 Omaha hi/lo. I was told it was supposed to not be true as of last week but I was also told that before and I haven't been back since to see it for myself. It should be true for time games because they take rake off your stack whether you are there or not.

You get an absent button if you are not in your seat at the dealer change, which is every 30 minutes, and in most games can get picked up when you get your second absent button. Then it usually takes a little time for the floor to pick you up. So if you get up immediately after a dealer change you have about 70 minutes before you will get picked up. There are some players who are masters at getting back in their seats after 59 minutes just to play one or two hands before they get up again and start the clock over.

Some of the limit games have a third man walking rule, where the third person to get up gets only 10 or 15 minutes before he gets picked up.

I have witnessed players who abuse the rule getting clocked out by the dealer or floor. The players' chips were not picked up, but they were clocked out and entered as "Guest" in Bravo.

If the question is:
Quote:
They (do) put you into Lobby when you miss a blind?
The answer is: No

If the question is the opposite of the first question, as originally asked:
Quote:
They don't put you into Lobby when you miss a blind?
The answer is: (the opposite) Yes. (They do not).

just a clarification of some points from when we had this discussion (in this thread... with Stan involved) about 4 months ago.

it is your daily average play that counts most (weekly and monthly is also in the calculation)

the poker room day is midnight until 11:59pm. it is not 6:00am - 5:59am like the rest of the casino.

you get put into lobby if you get up from a rake game. you do not get put into lobby in a time-charge game and they will continue to pull time charges off your stack until they pick up your chips.

[comment: true for purposes of hours of play needed to get bonus comps, but not for purposes of average daily play, me thinks.]

you get put into lobby if you get up from a rake game.
Wrong! This has never been the case at Borgata.

We had a long long long discussion with people this weekend at 2/5 with free rooms and somebody went and talked to Vinny. Here it is guys.

I was wrong, 100 hours a month is not the key thing, it is 8 hours a day. So diluting your play does not hurt you like somebody mentioned. So say you play 120 hours a month, but play 4 days a week (average 7.5 hours a day) compared to somebody who plays 100 hours a month but plays 3 days a week (averaging 8.33 hours a day). Borgata will give free summer weekends to the 100 hour a month guy over the 125 hour a month guy.
To sum it all up, if you are only going to play a few hours at Borgata and really want that weekend room, you might as well not swipe your card, but if you are like me, and put 12 hour days for Saturday and Sunday, a 4 hour day on Monday does not hurt so I swipe my card for my $8 in comps that day.

And NO they do not put you in lobby for 1/2, 2/5 or 5/10 NL....2 absent buttons they pick up you, unless the floor is lazy and I have seen a player not picked up for 2 1/2 hours paying time.

Anybody know if you can get your hours adjusted ever a couple days after the fact? I just logged onto the Borgata and it looks like I got shorted for 3 hours and I think I know exactly where it happened since when they moved me I noticed my light was blinking and it is one of the trouble 2/5 tables that none of the lights work and the 8 seat always blinks.

Hey guys, I have a comp question. I was thinking of going up Thursday night, and getting a cheapass room at Showboat for $24. I'd play Borgata for ~10 hours Thursday, then ~10 hours on Friday. Would this much play get me a room comped for that Friday night? It's Memorial Day weekend so I guess there might not be so much availability but I saw something earlier in this thread saying that 10 hours on a Friday could get you a room comped that night, if they're available.

No way on memorial day, without some previous action.

99% chance that will not happen. Takes a while for your offers to update after putting in sessions, usually like 2-3 days.

Does the limit come into play at all? 1-2 vs. 2-5 vs. 5-10
