@Randal_Graves & ngrund...Thanks for the information. I'm thinking we might be playing the 12pm Borgata next Friday and the 8pm at the Revel. I've heard that's turned into a really good tournament.

Does the Borgata's Thursday 7pm black chip bounty do well? That's another one we are looking at playing.

for me, the extra time is huge because i play mix games which have a very slow turnover so it sucks when you wait two hours for your seat, then they finally call you but you've stepped out of the room for a minute and then they go to the next person. nooo! but yeah, it's def. helpful and imo all of 2+2 should know about it.
How long do they hold call-ins on the list? Driving in from Philly Sunday afternoon only have a couple of hours to experience the room and would really like to play 10/20 LHE.

Thx.

Is it possible to start a list for a 6 max 2/5 game?

Borgata doesn't do calls in like Parx does, if your name is next it will get called and other than what rush said about taking 10 minutes, it won't stay up.

I wish the the B would put tournament info like the PARX does on the Bravo App maybe put the BBJ at the top, this may attract more players who have the app. maybe even the current promotions etc.

Can someone please give feedback on how long the 25k GTD Friday noon tournament usually lasts? I have to leave by 7 pm so wondering if I have enough time. Does it still get to a shove-fest at the final 2 tables? Been a few years since I played a tourney at Borgata now - so any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

When I posted the info above about the Friday noon it was still going on at quarter after 10. Unless they left the info up on the TV after the tournament ended but it was still counting down the level clock when I saw it.

I took a break around 10-30 and as I walked past the table they were discussing 4-way chop

Quick observations on first visit

Beautiful room.
All dealers very good.
Love the 10/20 structure with $5 time.
Played 10 min 3/6. It really is the same everywhere (or whatever is the bottom game). I'm 48, youngest by 20 years.
+1 being able to move 3 seats away from button w/o posting. -1 paying time after playing only 3 hands (Parx I think only charges if >15 minutes at table?)

Room for improvement
The speakers suck, can hardly make out the game calls. Having to go to the table only to find the game won't be going (I mistakenly picked up the first time, learned my lesson). Everywhere else, just tell the nearest floor yes/no and let them radio in.
Board attendants that you have to shout to be understood (bad hearing?)
10 handed. ugh.

I think there needs to be some kind of global heads up to people calling the games to slow down. I don't know how many times names have been passed of people who are in the room because the announcements come so fast. That is, unless you know the special "77" code, then you can be locked up for 15 minutes without anybody else allowed to be called even when you are not there to say to keep the seat locked. The 2 circumstances still sound contradictory to me. Shouldn't you either have 15 min to claim your seat or have your named called 3 times and then on to the next?

May is also a Bonus Comp Dollar month in the poker room. Well, half of May anyway.

Starting May 15, play 30 hours in the Borgata Poker Room and earn $25 in Bonus Comp Dollars, good for food, drink and entertainment at full info.
The blog is a good resource to bookmark for future use.

I have stayed at the Waterclub the last 2 weeks and they seem to have changed the TV layout, also there is no HBO, no TV schedule listings it seems like it is the same exact as the Borgata's now

To any "going south" nits, you will love Borgata.

I bought in for $140 at 2-4 Limit, more than anyone on the table. After a few hands I won a pot to bring my stack to $160 and thought to myself, "I"ll need to tip for drinks I'm about to order". Between hands, I took $2 off the stack and an old lady makes a big deal about it, the dealer backs her up. But you can still tip from the stack, you just can't take the chip off the stack before the waitress gets into the vicinity, haha. Crazy.

That is stupid, people do it at 2-5 NL all the time, I have even seen people shove all in, and while the person is thinking they take out $1 to give a tip for their drink.

Seems like a general cost cutting going on at borgata. As several players already noted in the forum, I just lost my Saturday room comps, one month after earning my black card. I never thought I'd say it, might be time to check out a certain poker room that lets you earn rooms based on one days hours of play. I will really miss borgata poker room but there's just no way to make a profit playing 1 2 and 2 5 while paying for hotel rooms. Hopefully they can make something work. I miss Stan already...

i think the tv change was so that they could integrate the in-room gambling system in both hotels.

That is what I was thinking, its not like us poker player watch TV in the room, as long as I have comedy central I am happy, but strange that they just changed it last 2-3 weeks.

The new TVs at The Water Club are MUCH better than the old ones. The remote control almost never worked well.

There are some strange things happenign in the poker room the last few weekends I ahve been going down, including very late fills, and overall lack of 'attention' by the floor people. Hopefully these are not signs of the best poker room on the east coast falling victim to severe competition form all directions. They just need to hang in there until poker finally comes to NYC (which will be a while, unfortunately )
