Bally's Claridge is the worst option of any hotel in AC that has a poker room, IMO.

Here is an update since last week I said it was off by $4 or so.

This week I played 4:02-7:59 (4 hours)
9:11-1:58 (rouind down to 4.75 hours)
11:30-7:30 (8 hours exactly)
11:02-2:25 (round way down to 3.25 hours)
I saw the dealer clock me in and wrote it down.
Should be 20 hours, for $40, got $39 comp this week, so pretty close. But still do not know how they keep track (when they count your hours). Will report next week again. Does everybody else keep exact hours and it comes out exactly right or ahead, or is it like mine and they maybe round down to the half hour which would make sense here cause that would give me 19.5 hours for $39

And on another note, people said the water club did not have wi fi in their lobby, well just like Borgata's living room, the Water Club does have free wii fii in their lobby

Going back to the debit card for security deposit conversation, does anyone know how long it usually takes for the hold to be returned to your account? I had a $300 debit for a two night stay last week and it still shows as a pending debit that updates each day (today it shows a pending debit for 1/23).

I thought I saw someone respond to you before that they log it every 12 minutes. That would put you at 19.8 hours or $39.60 in comps. The every half hour theory happens to fit with your results as well.

The casino released the hold when you checked out. The problem is your bank. Credit cards will usually clear the hold the next business day, but debit cards will take 5-21 days depending on the bank. That's why using a debit card should always be your last option.

Ah thanks for the reply Lattimer. I'll keep that in mind for future visits.

comment: you are having a computer count your time, not a human, so 4:02 to 7:59 is not 4 hours. It may be closer to 3:48. and if you check on the website when you go home it may show 39, but when you log onto a slot machine it may show 39.83 or something, so I am not convinced you are missing a penny of comps. (the website rounds down, but you still have the 0.83 or whatever fraction, and you are still not counting every 12 minutes, so don't expect more precise and accurate results...)

Can you use cash as a deposit as well? I know it's probably in this thread already, but not sure which page.

I agree to that point. This week the comps worked out well no matter how you work it. Excellent point that the website only rounds down to the dollar, cause before I left the Borgata I put my card in the slot machine told me I had $109.90 in comps, come home and it says $109, so the 12 minute rule sounds right.

Borgata, apparently, has standards. They, apparently do not want a bunch of slobs on the premises that would make their high dollar customers go elsewhere.

It's like night clubs that require their male customers to wear collared shirts, or some restaurants that require their male customers to wear ties, etc.

You can get your exact comp dollar amount from the website. Just click on the phrase "COMP DOLLARS" that appears above your comp dollar figure. This will bring up an overlay page that shows how many comp dollars you have earned each month. Add all the months together and you have your current comp balance down to the penny.

FWIW you're allowed to wear a bathing suit and a wife beater around but not a bathrobe. Strange imo.

This was probably asked before, but how do the comps work in terms of rolling over? I was looking through mine and it seems to have reset since I played all month of September. Also, I play in the High Limit room in the pit and I don't see any points from that.

No rollover, only roll off. 180 days and they're gone. You might want to call or go to the MBR desk, or email Stan to look into it for you, since it sounds like you should have something there.

How is the tourney impacting the general skill of players at low stakes (mostly interested in 1-2, but wouldn't mind opinions on 2-5 as well)? I'm heading to AC this weekend with a group of guys, many of whom haven't played much poker but are interested in trying it out. I'd rather not throw them directly into the deep end if at all possible.
