Stan,

What do we need to do to remove the BBJ from 5-10NL?

Borgata's Bad Beat Jackpots in the past have reset at a much higher number. So I'm curious...when was the last time Borgata changed the way they calculate their reserve Jackpots and how are players notified of any changes?

Thanks for the reply.
That's because the last two BBJP dealt were Quad 10's or better. Usually we have a couple of smaller BBJP's hit in between the larger. The change that we made was that the smaller BBJP (2's - 9's) would cap at 50K.

We had to order new rule signs and pamphlets for the room. The Rules will also be updated on the web-site later today.

The Majority of players must agree. This is not just one table on a Tuesday all agreeing. This means the majority of all 5-10 NL players agreeing that they would like to remove it. The players will change their minds back and forth with the BBJP is low or high.

Almost every time I play 5/10 this comes up, and probably 90%+ of the regs want it removed, even ones who have been part of it.

Friday afternoon , borgata 5/10 nl. On flop, player bets 150, Frank raises to 400, player pushes whole stack into middle, looks like about same amount as Franks bet, maybe slightly more. Dealer assumes all in and call, deals turn and river. Frank misses flush, players stack is counted and found to be $453 Claims "I never said call, the dealer dealt prematurely". Player asks Frank to simply pay him on the 400, not the 53 extra. Floor comes over and rules that since Frank hadn't said call to call the additional 53, that the cards come back. Frank calls obv and hits flush on second run.

Thank you. Would be nice to be notified of any changes as they happen.

Also if it's not too much trouble....can you please post the small bad beat jackpot next to the Big Badbeat jackpot when you post the game report? Would be nice to know both. Thanks.

The rule is very clear that if he didn't say call and the dealer burns and turns before the action is completed, that card can't play. Sucks! but it's the rule. He did't have to do anything. At least he did that much. How many others would have done that?

Anybody who as any integrity at all would have let the pot ship to the winning hand. At most shorted the $53. Frank obv angle shot the situation, and got a couple more shots at his flush.

I am just saying that i think it was good for Frank to rethink the situation and give the money back.

Who was going to be making the argument that action was incomplete if the flush had ran out the first time?

Maybe the guy that went all in and realized that Frank didn't call. He would also have the right to bring it back and run it again.

I'm pretty strict with regard to the rules.

But overlooking another $53 (about 6% of the pot) to call into a pot of about $853, it seems like the gesture that was originally made to give the extra $53 back was the right thing to do, and no do over on the river.

What if it would have been another $25? Or $15? Or $5?

Or were you just backing up the ruling of your floor person that could have been ruled either way?

Just playing devil's advocate.

What is being left out of the conversation is that the dealer burned and turned as the guy said all in, not giving Frank the opportunity to say call before the card was on the table. It's easy to say, wow, what a move, and i can understand that. But know the whole story before judging.

There is only on ruling that we can make. This is a very simple call. No card can play if the action has not been completed. There is no debating this very simple rule. Both players would have had the right to have the ruling made. Either one could have had the ruling in their favor. If the heart hits the first time, the other guy gets the ruling and we replay the card. If the heart doesn't fall then Frank can ask for a new card. This is very simple basic rules of poker.
