I have played 2/5 and talked with many of the regs there about their thoughts on if the 2/5 was a 150bb-200bb game and I have yet to find anyone opposed to it even the slightest. Infact most of them really liked the idea. 2/5 is the only 100bb no limit game in the Borgata as you know, even plo has a deeper stack. Can you consider upping this limit? Possibly 2/5 750-1k max. I would even be willing to start a petition if you think there isn't enough interest, to show you there is. Let me know what you think or what I would need to do to further this.

Of course the regs want deeper stacks. That's hardly a shocking revelation. The regs are not exactly known for being far-sighted.

The room manager has to worry about the health of the games, however. Borgata's 2/5 games right now are extremely good, I'd rather play scared in that game than get bored silly in 1/2. However, if the buyin were changed to $750-$1000, I'd stay out. I just don't have that much money to piss away.

IMO, people who say such things have no brain, have outsized egos, and are very bad for the game in many ways. People's intellect is not defined by how refined their ability is to play poker. Have some respect for fellow human beings who sit on your table, regardless of their skill in one particular narrow area.

That said, I agree with making bets in $5 increments. It's just too annoying otherwise.

Hi Everyone,

How easy is it for a 1/2NL or 2/5NL player to get weekday (Sun - Thurs) room comps at the Borgata?

Pretty flip answer to Truman's question. There are no deepstacks listed for July on the site, and no mention of satties for the re-entry in August.

I'm as interested as Truman. Stan/Tab?

Not very easy anymore, I'm afraid.

I play those stakes (more 2/5 than 1/2, with some 1/2 PLO thrown in) when I can get down there. I also play in most of the big event series, other than May/June.

I used to get one free night per week (Sun-Thurs) excluding holidays. Earlier this year, the Borg cut back on all their comp schedules. No more free rooms. They even renegged on a promise of a free room to compensate for the no heat/hot water debacle during the Winter Open. When I tried to use it in March, they told me the 'offer' had expired.

Meanwhile, Harrah's is expanding it's comp schedule. I hardly ever play there, except for Caesar's during the March WSOP circuit event. I've been getting offers of two free nights/week in any of their four casinos. Much as I love the Borg, it's Harrah's for me until things change.

As for the Borg, you'll need to log some serious hours to squeeze anything out of them these days. Stan is very accommodating with a poker rate whenever he can be, so you should ask for it if you can't get fully comped and really want to stay there.

Edit: Think it may have been April when I was rebuffed for the compensatory room. It was during the 'nameless' event.

no its really not just cut the bs and make it 15 or 20

Plo should be played deeper

People really dont even think in terms of blinds at 1/2- theyre that bad

Raising the min from 100 to atleats 300 is the way to go
I had assumed it was 200, until someone bought in for about 120 last week and i mistakenly told him the min was 200, which the dealer quickly corrected

Online i think 20 blinds is an absolute joke for 1/2
live you could at least make the argument its the lowest game going, so someone with 40 dollars can go to a lower room
But once you get past the lowest level in a poker room there is no logical reason to allow people to buy in for 20 blinds

Quick Jitney question. It's been a while, so I forget the directions that the Jitney routes take.

If I get dropped off at Bally's, which Jitney route # should I take to get to Borgata? But more importantly, which side of the road should I jump on to get me from Bally's to Borgata the fastest? Obviously I want the path with the least stops. Or is there only one choice anyway?

And I have the same question to get me back to Bally's as quickly as possible.

To get to Borgata: Take the #2 Jitney, and wait on the side closest to the ocean.

To get to Ballys from Borgata: Just wait at the Borgata Jitney stop outside the poker room.

I take the #2 on the south side of the road. I think the #3 on the north side might also go there, but I haven't taken it and I'm unsure how often it runs.

I take the #2 to get back, but the #3 would probably also do it, but it doesn't run overnight.

In my offers on the website, I see a Room Offer for "Call to Book Your Free Room Sunday - Thursday". I haven't tried calling yet, though, so I don't know what the terms of this offer are.

I pretty much play only 1/2.

Loath as I am to disagree with the ROTE, the cutbacks are real.

As I said, I received comped weekday rooms for years. Those offers ceased late last year/earlier this year. I have spoken with other players who have said the same has happened to them. My rewards page now says "call for poker room rates Sun - Thurs." No comped rooms at all. My play, if anything, has increased over the past 2 years. So the company line may be that the comp system has been adjusted as opposed to cut back, but I call semantics on that claim.

While the level of customer services continues to shine in the poker room, I feel it is falling by the wayside in the rest of the organization, no doubt due to the moribund economy and the toll it is taking on the company coffers and the morale of its employees.

Same, there are no comped rooms available on my borgata calendar on the website when I log in anymore. Every night Sun-Saturday is at a minimum of $79. I had been receiving comped rooms until about a week ago when they completely changed the calendar.

Stan
Michael,

If you play multiple games such as Poker, Slots, Table Games,
you will receive the best offer from the three. July and August, your best offer was from slots. You can't get both poker and slot comp room offers at the same time. Always been like this. However, since your poker play is valuable to us, just PM me when you need a room and i will take care of it through poker.
