ACE Train is good just a bit pricey. $40 if I remember correctly. Bus is cheaper but very long and uncomfortable.

hey, i've been trolling this thread for a while, and finally me and some friends are driving up to ac tomorrow. i was wondering if there was a number to call in and reserve a seat at the poker room (called the borgata number and there wasn't a poker room option). also, i was wondering how to get the poker rate for the weekend. we're going to be playing 2/5 to 5/10 if that helps. i'd really appreciate all help. thanks a lot

Stan, I played the 7.50-15 Omaha H/L on Tues night from 9pm-1am. It was a real blast and I had more fun (than when I played 1-2nl) in a long long time. It was a full table and on my next trip in January I will certainly be hitting it up.

Even with getting 4 outered twice, 3 outered once and bricking out with AA23 twice (still only lost $110), it was a very enjoyable game. I stayed overnight but it didn't run till 2pm the next day when I was leaving. I realize the place was a complete zoo so it didn't run early.

Please keep the O8 PCG game going!

thanks

p.s. There were only 2 cocktail waitresses for the ENTIRE room... I had to get my own water downstairs. I don't get how you guys didn't forecast a big crowd on a Holiday. Hopefully you do better next time.

Can someone compare the PCG in Borgata vs say the 10-20 O8 at the Mirage or the (5/10?) at Venetian, or (5/10, 10/20?) at the Orleans?

O8-cash only please.

I'd like to know what kind of play goes on in Vegas as I plan to play it (cash game) in June when I go out.

I did the Orleans O8 tourney last June (on a Wed) and I'd say 50% of the players were reasonably competent.

thanks.

Stan,

Was the WJFK tournament held in the event center? How did you have room for nearly 700 tournament participants on top of the insane number of cash games you're running?

Apologize in advance for this not being Borg specific...all of the below is current as of my last LV trip about 5 weeks ago

my 2 cents is that is tough to compare those

a little clarification on the state of LV O8 games (note that June is likely WSOP so the game selection will prob be vastly different--- the 10/20 and 20/40 O8 games at the rio are some of the softest in the country)

the mirage game is pretty well dead...it was a 5/10 w/full kill (same game as taj...and played exactly the same)...but now it's a 4/8 w/ a half kill...that runs rarely...it used to run everyday like clockwork

the V runs a 4/8 w/ 1/2 kill...but doesn't run a ton also

the Orleans is the best bet for a low limit O8 game in vegas...it's a 4/8 w/ 1/2 kill usually and is pretty comparable to the pcg...i'd say the players are slightly more competent since its the main low limit game in town (most AC omaha players have migrated from the 5-10 taj game to the 10/20 OE at the borg)

the Wynn 10/20 O8 game isn't running much nowadays

the 30/60 O8 game at the B runs almost everyday

Room was jumping again today. I played a few hours of 3/6 this afternoon and actually had some fun. It was actually nice to play at a table in the back. I hate playing up front. Was hoping 5/10 or even pink chip LHE could have run, but no luck. Really sucks that no where can get one constant limit going between 3/6 and 10/20 in the entire city.

Today was much better then the 2/4 table I was at the previous night. Nine old men that obviously did not vote for Obama and a young semi-drunk guy - not a good mix.

Cash games had some long wait lists until dealers/tables became available. Around 3PM, new tables were being opened one right after the other. Floor people were definately keeping busy...

...and then at 4PM, the lights flickered... and the computers went down.

(Stan picked a good time to be off :-P)

this is not true by the way,

some taj 5-10 H/L omaha players are playing 2-4 omaha H/L at the Taj,

some are playing pink chip omaha H/L at the Borgata,

some are playing the afternoon 10/20 OE at the Borgata,

- but most are still playing the 5-10 H/L at the Taj,
still the most reliable low limit omaha H/L game in town in the
late evenings...

...though it is true the Borgata has been doing a great job
of luring more and more H/L players over recent months, ....
any more promises of pleasure or reward to play at
the Borgata, true or even illusory, most welcome and appreciated!

In a recent trip to vegas I played in the V 4/8 1/2 kill game alot. The play was significantly looser there then the pink game game at the borg. Tried to play at the Wynn but the 10/20 game never went when I was there.

I actually like the borg game better unless it is unusually nitty.

I'm glad you corrected his statement.. I was really confused that he said the Taj 5/10 now are at the borg PCG cause I played both and it was not the same. The Taj 5/10 guys are pretty tight players and also IMO loyal to the Taj room as they have played there for years (and years and years).

I'll try the V game or the Orleans O8 on my next trip.. I will be there during the WSOP 2010 so a soft 10/20 might be more to my liking.

Are you saying that the Orleans/WSOP 10/20 O8 is looser than the Wynn 4/8 or the Orleans (5/10?) ?

Anyone played them and have more than hearsay on the game?
