I am making a trip to Atlantic City on Tuesday, but I wanted to know if it would be possible to get a room comped the same day after playing for 8 hours+. I already made reservations for 2 nights, but a friend of mine said that was pointless because they will give me a free room. Can I get any clarification on that, please.

No. Any play applies to rates for your next visit.

If you're playing one of the really big games, you could ask the poker host, but don't be surprised if she says no.

The men's bathroom is an absolute disaster... It's a bio hazard in there. I don't 100% blame borgata for that but still, it's disgusting.

Use the opportunity to get up and move around a little more. Leave the room and go straight across the floor to the one behind Borgata & Co, or left to the one by the Water Club hallway. Both larger, better maintained and rarely as foul. Worth missing a couple more hands.

And that typically only applies for 5 10NL+ and 20 40Limit+, so if you are playing 1 2 or 2 5, do not bother asking.

If it has a VISA or MC logo no problem, they have taken mine no problem, they put a $150 hold for a compt room that you get back in a day or so.

No they will let you use it. They do say that the debit deposit takes longer to get your money back than using credit, however.

Time to get your money back depends on your bank, I hear BOA takes the longest, up to 2 weeks

I did a little googling + searching in this thread, but couldn't come up with anything: does anyone happen to know the number of runners for previous years' Junkies Poker Opens? Also, is the tournament usually run in the poker room or elsewhere onsite?

They will allow you to do cash deposits as well. But if you can not back it with a credit card later they will not give it back to you immediately they will hold - take out any charges and then mail you the balance. Takes about 10 days for you to get the check back.
