The now-generic food vendors are in the same places as their predecessors, so you can stumble in bleary-eyed and still find your burger/cheesesteak/salad/pizza/Ben & Jerry's where it was before. (The taco place took the duplicate Asian place's spot.) Burger now includes turkey and veggie options; I didn't look closely at the menus otherwise.

The opposite end, formerly seating, is a deli-type thing, with pre-fab salads and sandwiches, drinks and packaged foods. I didn't go around into the foodie bar (cheese and whatnot), which is next along the wall (directly ahead from the bottom of the escalators).

One thing I noticed is that because it's mostly open and all hard surfaces, it's quite loud.

And the attack faucets in the restrooms remain.
The places may be in the same spots but the food is a lot better now! The pizza is WAY better AND it's actually fresh---they prepare everything to order; they're all individual/personal pies and you can get up to 4 toppings all for only like $8. You can't beat that for a meal. And, they also offer fresh pasta which is also cooked to order with all sorts of fresh sauces to choose from(vodka sauce, marinara, Alfredo etc). You get a big bowl plus garlic bread for only $9. And it's GOOD! And that's the main thing.

The salad place is way better, too! More toppings to chose from and just a lot fresher looking overall.

The coffee place is great and saves me the trip going to Starbucks.

All the pastries and specialty cheeses and whatnot are awesome. They have a really nice wine bar and every imaginable beverage you can think of including IPA beers. They also have the marketplace store to purchase take-home items like: fresh pasta, gourmet cookies, crackers, imported olive oils/vinegars. Fresh Canoli's filled to order, Italian cookies etc..

Plus, they offer fresh fruit and an assortment of gluten free items.

Admittedly, I didn't/won't try the Asian eateries(huge snob when it comes to that cuisine so I'll only go to izakya).

All in all, this is a huge improvement. I'm impressed.

That old salad place was funny. Only went there once, it was noon on a Sunday. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad (not exactly an insane order) and the lady working just said "we don't have chicken." I just LoLed and left, never went back.

Hopefully the new one is a step up from that

Does the 5/T here play with $10 chips or $25 and $5 chips? And does anyone know the current comp rate for 5/T?

I believe that the comp rate is two dollars per hour.

From the few times I've played 5/10nl, the game plays with everything from $5 redbirds up to $500 and $1k chips (minus $10 and $20 chips).

There are all kind of chips in the 5/10. Reds are common but tilt some regulars so some people will try to regularly color up people with big stacks of red. Purple chips and orange chips are very standard also, a lot of people buy in with orange so they are regularly in the game.

I even see blue chips get into the game fairly often. Not sure why they get in, probably stud players too lazy to color up or something before changing games but that bothers me when it happens lol.

Blues are not used in any of the stud games. Theyre most likely coming from the $40/80 LHE game.

What does merge borgata's loyalty system with its own mean? Does that mean the borgata cards will be replaced with new mgm ones?

previous press releases from MGM have stated that Borgota will become part of the MLIFE rewards program..haven't said what will happen to existing Borgota points, etc.

We are excited about the opportunity to bring our market-leading loyalty program, M life Rewards, to the resort and integrate our operations, to position Borgata for further growth."

Borgata poker blog says Justin Beiber played poker Friday night? Picture anyone? What did he play? I'm bummed, was dying to go play last night but ended up having to stay home.

He was playing 1/2 with his posse, some people say it was 10/20 limit but pretty sure it was 1/2. Borgata put him at a table by the ATM/toilets. Really rolled out the red carpet treatment lol

That's odd. I saw the Biebs by the blackjack tables wearing a red shirt. He even does wardrobe changes while gambling?

I didn't find them disturbing, but they had the poor valets going nuts out front as they announced "he's gone ladies. Who needs a cab?" and the hordes of Bieber lovers refused to leave.

I'm going to be in NYC in a few weeks and would like to play some poker a few nights while I'm there. I'll likely be able to get away for maybe 1-2 nights and would be looking to play ~20 hours of 2/5 or 5/10 NLHE.

Where would be the best spot to play out of Parx, Foxwoods and Borgata?

Specifically -
1) Would there be much difference in softness of games at these stakes in these casinos? Same question for 2/5 PLO.
2) I assume min/max buy-in amounts and rake in OP are up to date?
3) Is there any discount/deal on hotel rooms for poker players?
4) Is there any state or federal tax witheld for tournament winnings if I do happened to play a tournament (I know Parx has a series on while I'm there)?
5) Any other relevant details that would be pertinent.

Thanks. I've xposted this in the three threads for these casinos.

i get that most of the time a player complains about a ruling, we can usually point out something he did that attributed to his demise. even if it's a technicality or a need to protect yourself despite normal occurrences.

but in this case it seems pokertrench is completely right. both in how chips are handled customarily and by the technicality of the rule.

he put his entire raise out over the line and was called a string bet for setting the chips up in an easy to count manner. not only is this totally normal (and considerate), but the hard rule is any chips over the line in one motion (unless declared verbally prior) is the bet or raise.

the more likely complaint from a player who didn't understand the rule (and was in front of a dealer who was a stickler) would be if he wanted to call, reached over the line with enough chips to raise but only cut out a call, and tried to pull back the rest.

pokertrench got screwed on this play. hope it wasn't a big loss in value.

Baloney
Just say raise and then load up the raise
He botched it up IMHO

SAY RAISE THEN PUT OUT THE RAISE very simple

Or just play at Parx where it's never an issue and dualrate floor personal come in to work in a suit. Not put on a suit jacket over their dealing uniform after an 8+ hr shift. Point being fair accurate consistent rulings are made. I agree if anything the whole stack should have been in not a string bet call. Regardless old news. I'm happy at my new home casino and life goes on. Run good my friend.

i've basically thought for a year what pokertrench said. the floors at borgata are a joke. the dealers are also terrible. the other day <redacted> was flooring and he could barely operate a walkie-talkie much less floor. i'm not the world's greatest tipper but whenever i go to parx after a stay at borg i end up tipping a ton because i feel like i'm in poker nirvana or something.

anyway, warning to all ya'll advantage players. i was living at borg for a few weeks during the summer open and having a lot of trouble playing volume after being up money (i honestly blame the room for this cause the floors and dealers are so incompetent and the nitregs so annoying i wouldn't want to play...i have no problem playing 14+ hours at the woods or parx)...so i'd play a few shoes of BJ a day to keep my room offers and i was doing the unconscious counting i talk about in the next paragraph which maybe got me to neutral EV.

i went on a heater and i guess i got noticed because i'd play at weird hours and i don't like sharing a table with other people. i never counted cards at borgata beyond like "hey haven't seen an ace in 20 minutes let's bet 3 spots and a lil more than our normal 25 a spot" but i have counted at other atlantic city casinos and a casino in another state that has a relationship with a boardwalk casino. i got into a really +EV situation at the nugget and i ended up abandoning camo and decided to take the shuffle/bet cap there (+15 true count...would've gotten more money from my car/ATM if GN allowed that). i think they contacted borgata and told them i'm an AP resulting in my account being frozen. borgata also investigated me and determined i'm an AP after reviewing my play (which is strange cause as i said i wasn't even counting) and the fact that other casinos consider me one.

i also know two poker players that weren't counting just drunk and changing their bet size and also had their comps frozen/rooms taken away which is ****ing insane.

the security guy who busted me told me they caught a counter the other week who was STUCK 1.3 MILLY and they put the shuffle on. can't even imagine the level of tilt. whatever. #playatparx and #seeyouatfoxwoods
