Apparently BBJ was hit today as a friend who was making his 3rd trip to the poker room apparently put the bad beat on (Limit game).... Super jealous... 1 table share at CAZ in 4 years of playing there...

I did a search of this thread and all I came up with one person saying that the 8/16 O8 runs almost continuously, but I didn't see anything about LHE. So...

Do 8/16 O8 and LHE run pretty much around the clock from Thursdays through Sundays? And do mixes of HO or HOE ever run at limits of 4/8 through 10/20? And what is the rake on these games?

If O8 is running continuously you can assume LHE is also......

There are usually multiple 8-16 lhe running till late at night. No mix games that low and rake is an absurd 6$ per hand

337 entrants top 35 paid 1st was 6800.

Was top 5 in chips all tourney lost 50th to chip leader

She opened button to 10k at 1500-3000, I'm BB w 168k.
I have 55 and raise to 27k..she calls
KT6 rainbow I bet 35k she calls
3c turn, brings 2nd c, I shove 106k

She tanks and decides I have KK. After 4 minutes of almost folding a guy calls clock and with 1 second left she calls....AJcc river Qc gives her the nuts and 340k pot.

And she proceeds to talk **** about how she got there....GG

At least I knocked 5 out and got it in as 2:1 favorite

8-16 LHE is almost continuous. IDK about overnight but from 10am to 1am there should be multiple games. 0/8 is more spotty but will likely have at least one game during those same hours.

I hope that you'll pm me for contact info! I will buy you a carrot cake if that's what it takes.

Seems a bit off topic Rapini...Why does Thurs to Sunday mean any more than Mon-Wed? This thread is for 7 day a week poker.

I know this isn't a strategy forum but this seems spewy. Playing that deep against another one of the other chip leaders, I think just calling preflop and set mining would be a much better play. There's no reason to risk your tournament life in a spot like this.

The point of the trip is baseball, but if I have a few spare hours I'd like to stop in. (Also, thread title changed accordingly. ) NLHE bores me to death, so wanted to make sure there'd be something else going on.

The Arena doesn't get PLO going, does it?

Pot-limit anything isn't on the menu in AZ. Word has it a game goes now and then in Tucson, but tribal-compact wise, I'm not sure how.

As close as you'll get to PLO is some 8/16 LO8.

Not strategy forum but..
She was super active and not good post flop thought v her I could build pot to take down. She seemed really weak on turn qj/jt type hands.
Maybe better spots but supposed to win 100k there and I felt like I was getting it in good.

Also, what becomes the 3b line then? I'm raising big aces, suited connectors and pairs trying to disguise and build pots to take down I figure she wants to protect her stack? Am I only reraising 99+, AJ+?? Seems too tight

If she is bad postflop, all the more reason to keep the pot small preflop. The smaller the pot is compared to the stacks, the more skill is involved after the flop. Bloating pots out of position vs big stacks doesn't seem like a good strategy for success. Maybe start a thread in MTT forum so we can see what they think.

I don't think the thread name change is a good one. Whatever the "real name" is, most people interested in the poker room are going to be looking for "Casino Arizona", and will no longer be able to easily find this thread. I'd suggest bringing back CAZ as part of the title and dropping either "The Arena" or "Talking Stick Resort": one is a subset of the other (and neither name is well known), so both are not needed.

Yeah it should have Arizona in the title.

I put like 15 minutes of effort into it however many months ago and then got bored or something came up at work and I stopped.

Well the Casino themselves dropped the "Casino Arizona" name, and I don't think that was a very good idea. But it is what it is.

Shortly after the new resort opened, the first time I googled CAZ to look up what tourney was running that particular weekend, I nearly had a heart attack (let's just say a panic attack) when I couldn't find any mention of poker on it whatsoever. Then... waaaaaaaaaaaay down at the bottom right corner of the home page is "Visit TalkingStickResort.com". Aha!

So... for people coming here to Scottsdale for a visit, I think it's def best that we use the correct name for the room - and for the resort. we wouldn't want em donking out like me and end up at McKellips playing blackjack or even worse, bypassing the casino altogether when they can't find any mention of poker whatsoever.

Cliffs: In order to find the poker room on google, you pretty much need to use 'Talking Stick Resort' now and not 'Casino Arizona'. So the new thread title is appropriate. Who the heck wants to go to McKellips anyway?!

I did see Tiffany Michelle tweeting all weekend about her visit here, and she kept using "@Casino Arizona". That's why I think them changing the name was a bad idea. Creates too much confusion for visitors.

Maybe I didn't realize the situation (I am not a local). Does the name "Casino Arizona" truly no longer refer to both locations owned by the tribe? I thought it was CAZ at Salt River, and CAZ at Talking Stick Resort (which houses the poker room). Honestly, naming the poker room "the Arena" seems very silly, and I can't imagine it catching on.
