Nice meeting ya today Pope... thanks for finally going to the 20 game so I could resume winning in that 2/3 game...lol!!

I was on the backside of a 20 hour session from Saturday night, but enjoyed how you owned the table for a few hours...but enjoyed it more when you left so I could reclaim the table!!

Catch ya later, I'll be on 3/5 most of the week

Was at talking stick last friday night. I want to say there were several dozen people on various waitlists yet each game called to start never had the full 9 players to start a game. I complained to the manager that games were not getting started but he seemed to just not care. Is this not fixable at all? Ive never seen a cardroom so greedy but it is a very nice place to play once you actually get on a game.

I don't understand your complaint. if they call the list, and players turn down tge game, how can they start it? most players refuse to play rake games short, so starting 6 handed doesn't make sense.

And how is not starting games greedy? the house doesn't make any money from empty tables.

Same to you. You won't see me at 3/5 very often. Either my NL game is far too exploitable (not what you saw yesterday, that was hyper LAG mode), or I just am likely not that great of a NL player.

Well all I saw was full waiting lists on nearly every game offered and every time they tried to start a game it would fail pretty much every time. I dont mean 9 people on the list, it was more like 12-15 for every game. Its a pretty awful system for starting games when someone has to be right in front of the podium and has 5 seconds to raise their hand for the roll call. The 5/10 game I finally got on was only started bc a few players got together and complained.

It just seems like something better could be done, there were literally 100 people waiting to play and zero games were being started. Also not starting a game bc 8 ppl are ready and not 9 is absolutely pathetic. I complained to the floor guy but he just stared at me with glazed eyes and gave moron responses. I really enjoy playing at talking stick, but this along with other things is starting to be a turnoff.

I call them greedy for giving the worst comps I have ever seen, paying out 5% of the BBJ while they collect interest on the 'fund' and the horrible ways they try to start games. Where else can I play in the phx area?

Howard, you missed out on a 20/40 mix game that started as Stud and Stud 8/b and ended with us also adding Omaha 8/b.

If that game goes regularly I'll be very interested in who sits in. If it's not who I suspect then I will sit in.

Nobody misses out on stud games, more like dodging an extremely slow moving bullet

Thanks to BF, you can miss anything that isn't in the estimate 3 cities that still have stud: CT, Atlantic City, and I believe LA.

I consider this to be a very difficult issue for CAZ to combat but frankly the amount of times I have been on the list for games that don't start is disturbing. The 2/3 and 3/5 are consistent which is good. 2/3 should make min buy in $150 for the action. The shootouts are the most tilting. Every time they get to 9-13 people nobody comes and the game never starts its awful

Oftentimes I think that they wait a half hour longer to start a game than they should. On 2 occasions I've approached a senior manager and had games started. You might want to try that.

I've been wondering how long they are going to offer the shootouts. When I play I hear a couple, few getting called but they are obv not very popular. I've heard players I respect saying that they won't play them bec the juice is too high. Do you care to offer your thoughts on that?

The juice is too high, but they still have a place.

BUT STOP CALLING THEM SHOOTOUTS asdfkljasddfkjdvknalkgavkjklvjaclkmnadklvjnlkjfeak ljaelck

20% rake is too much (assuming doing the $5 add-on)...not sure how you can stay ahead of the juice playing these, especially if you are tipping anything out on top of the juice...on top of that, you will never get any volume in to even come close to showing a decent long term ROI...but I think that has already been discussed itt

The fact that they are called shootouts is just another example of the poker knowledge 'lackthereof' in the room and in the world!

I moved the tipping posts to the tipping containment thread. If you have any questions, please send me a PM.

Hi, haven't been to CAZ in a while, does anyone know if they are continuing the jackpot promotion next month or if they are doing something new? Thanks again

IDK about the BBJ add-on but the wheel (spin for high hands) is back in the room. That was yesterday and no one was spinning but it wouldn't be there if they weren't going to use it. It's a good move, imo, bec the BBJ fund was a LOT lower when it was in operation before and it is popular. It's a good way to spread the money around w/o a great chunk going to just one person.

Pretty sure the Jack and Jill tourney is the most annoying concept in the world. Every level they switch, and had like 10 people milling around our 40 mixed game which was stupidly in the tourney area, and one guy even was asking a player in the game the rules on all the games for like 15 minutes.

Also, the Jack and Jill tourney provides way too more affection than should ever be seen in a poker room.

I would say that Jack and Jill tourneys are fun, I had a 'Jill' once, and that you are being curmudgeonly except Rapini would prob delete it.

I know it doesn't do much for the timed games, but having those women in the 2/3 and 3/5 games is SUPERHUGEWINNING +EV!! Putting up with the annoyances is part of our sacrifice for softer/juicier games imo...That room was so full of clueless estrogen it made my heart go pitter patter...

That was uncalled for Howard.

And they weren't playing in our game Rossi, they were just standing there because the tourney tables were nearby and were railing our game.

Whassamattau? He can take a joke and, besides, he's dealt w/ hundreds of them in the lead-up to the State Championship. 1 every now and then isn't a big deal.
