So any of you see the games being buoyed by the Phoenix Open? I haven't noticed besides and occasional extra player.

Hey guys. I was wondering if CAZ allows "sweating"? Like will they allow my girlfriend to sit behind me and look at my cards? Hoping to make it out there today! Thank you.

Yes, a few people do it. But if your neighbor doesn't like it, it could cause problems. But that rarely happens.

how's the high low action out there? any decent mid-upper $ mix games or O8/PLO8 games that run weekly?

what about the casino/hotel rates for poker players?

(apologize in advance if this was posted elsewhere ITT, i haven't reviewed it.)

40/80 mix goes semi-regularly

Will almost always have O8 in it.

Hey Pope...what are the most common times to see 2 games of 20/40 going at once? I always fail to pay attention...might be playing it a bit more in the next few months so just curious...thanks

Evenings and weekends. Usually I've seen a 2nd game going around 2-3pm on weekdays and as early as 11am-noon on weekends. I could be way off on the weekday timing since I never get there until 3 at the earliest.

Did the Omaha8 BBJP hit?

I played a couple downs this week but I accidentally raised pf and was glared off the table.

Apparently the poker room is installing additional TV's that will be hung from the ceiling in the middle of the room. Sounds nice unless you're seated right under them.

I was wondering what they were doing there. That will be pretty cool, because during football games, people always complain if they aren't in the 6-9 seats that they can't see the TVs well.

They have taken out two tables and blocked off an area with caution tape in the middle of the room to do some work in the ceiling. Does anyone know what that is about?

Thank you Pope, I (obviously) had not seen those posts. Perhaps, just perhaps, it wasn't just apathy? Isn't there sometimes and issue with the database here?
Its amazing how quick you are to attack and criticize sometimes.

I'm planning to come up to play 5-10 SL this weekend (regs can cheer). But wondering if the combination of construction and the Winter Classic will limit the likelihood of that getting off?

I saw a really deep game going like midnight on Monday this week, so I'm sure it will be going over the weekend.

The construction I think removed all of 2 tables. They will get the game going for sure after some of the tourney tables break. Not sure when that will be, I need to examine it closer to plan my add-on/rebuy strategy.

I hope this is not an inappropriate question, and I apologize if it is, but I was wondering if anyone who reads this thread works in the poker room at Casino Az and knows if they likely might be hiring any time in the next few months? Is the room busy enough to possibly need more dealers any time soon? Even part-time, extra board, or on-call? Or are they over-staffed as-is?

I dealt in Arizona for about 7 years (at the Mazatzal Casino in Payson; Cliff Castle in Camp Verde; and brielfy at Harrah's Ak-Chin back in 1998), but I moved to Florida in 2007 and I have been dealing out here since then; now I am possibly moving back to Arizona some time soon and I just wanted to ask around about the poker rooms in the area. If anyone who deals there (or is familiar with the poker room these days) would be willing to offer me some sort of advice or information, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks.

By the way, being that I have not been back to Arizona since moving to Florida in December of 2007, I was wondering if they still had the $150 max-bet limit for Poker? I seem to recall hearing a while back that they increased the limit on Poker betting, so that poker rooms are now allowed to Spread-Limit games that are more like actual No-Limit games; also leading me to believe that there is now the possibility of larger Limit games (when I left, $75-$150 was the highest game allowed). If someone would let me know about this, I'd appreciate it, as well.

I do not work there, but as far as I know there is currently a hiring freeze there.

Max bet is now $500.
