Congrats to Chris. Nice comeback from starting the final table w/ 60k in chips when average was 700k. Chris had been telling anyone who was allin "good luck" for a couple hours, and w/ 7 left I made a reshove over an MP raise w/77 from the button and Chris tells me good luck but adds a second later "if I'm not in the hand" for the first time all day as the sb is looking at his hand. Well sure enough when Chris looks at his hand from bb he insta shoves. We were basically tied for 2nd at the time so this was a massive pot

Its like he thought this would be a great time for Aces and they magically appeared. Wish that worked for me. Anyway gg Chris, worthy champion

I heard it is going to be scoreboard style "box"( very large apparently), several players speculating that it was 8 sided with a TV on each side. Seems like overkill considering the number and size of the screen already in the room.

It is in fact a scoreboard style in appearance and has four sides, it had 4 ( i would guess about 50 inch) screens on each side which from what i can see can be run independently or merged into one large screen.
It was being assembled over the last few days and functioning but still sitting on the floor last night when i left. It will getting pulled up to the ceiling with winches attached to the top of the unit.

It also has a color "digital "ticker the runs around the bottom of the entire unit.

That new TV installation is more than large, it's enormous. I've only seen it in prep so far but I think they may have gone too big. I heard it cost $500K and it's nice of them to spend to make improvements but I'd wish they'd spring for a few thou to fix the lighting.

I also heard a dealer say that she's going to see if she can avoid ever dealing games under the new TV thing bec she's afraid. I told her it's now the safest place in the entire casino bec there's been a full crew checking ever nut and bolt. She's still afraid bec of the very thin cables holding the thing and my 'but they're space age composites that can hold 20,000 lbs each' didn't do the trick.

I didn't think that they were going to put a table directly under it

I think the cables were only used to lift the unit up and bolt it to the framework that was built and attached to the steel structure of the building.(just what i saw watching the process)
I also saw the contractors carrying out some heavy duty winches after it was in place. As far as i know there will in fact be tables underneath.

Talking Stick poker room is now officially called "The Arena", it's on the website.

http://www.talkingstickresort.com/gaming/poker.aspx

LOL at the screen tints on the four screens facing the tourney tables in the back - upper left was a nice bright pink, upper right was a grungy dark yellow, bottom left was gray and bottom right was actually looking okay. And the four screens weren't lining up properly so the combined image looked pretty damn odd. Hope they recitify all that but wouldn't they do it before they put it up in the air?

Oh, and nice table draw today in the deepstack. Ryan Hughes and at least four other deadly-serious regs (don't know names) who were far beyond competent to say the least. Open-shoved my ATo and 10 BB's into one of em holding AA right before second break. FML Teh pokerz wuz funz, az alwayz.

That is all.

Maybe they didn't spend any money and used the jackpot fund instead.
