Pretty sure he is talking about the name of them. That we are the only place in the world that calls SNGs shootouts.

So, is the wheel back in play for quads / straight flushes?

They aren't SNG's bec only 1 spot pays.

Will report back tonight when I get back but what else can it mean when the wheel reappears?

Yes i was just teasing Pope because of a "STOP CALLING THEM SHOOTOUTS" comment earlier.
I tend to agree with Howard, they are more of a shootout than SNG because only 1 spot pays.
Perhaps better than either of those terms might be single table "Freeze Out".

I dropped by the player's club desk to see how much $ I had on my card and found out that, although the points never drop off, the dollar value of those points drop off after a year and that it's very important to cash out the money on your card every now and then. They were nice enough to restore the money that had recently dropped off so that I could cash out the full amount but could not explain why valueless points remain on the card. W/E, cash out your card balance before the $ credit begins to expire.

I had more respect for these people when they weren't comping us at all.

I know I cashed out points on my card last year when they were offering that $50 or something. Let's see when that was by going back into this threads history.

Results: Sept. 19th 2010 was when I cashed out my points, and I didn't play that day. If they do it based on a rolling calendar, I am only out 25 hours and have until Nov. 6th before more hours roll off. But back then I don't think I was as good at logging out because we weren't getting the food comps yet.

And if it is $0.25 per hour, that means I am out a good $6.25, not exactly enough to put up a stink.

If that is the going rate, I should have about $107 coming in rakeback. Can't complain about free money, but thats kinda smallish.

I should go out and actually buy something with that money, cause just adding it to my poker bankroll is worthless and no fun.

AORN only Royals qualify to spin the wheel. Get the amount you land on, landing on Jackpot gets $500. There's word it'll be expanded when the paperwork that they always mention gets finished/approved.

Does that "rakeback" come out of the jackpot fund? If so, it's not really free, it was an involuntary donation you made earlier.

I think the 20 cents/hour is on the casino bec it's the same card the non poker players have (as opposed to The Orleans w/ a seperate poker room card). I'm sure that I wouldn't have had $165 if not for mom's slot play.

Didn't know it was 20 cents instead of the 25 I used to calculate, but either way when I went yesterday, I had a $52 balance. Whatever.

I've been wondering how long they are going to offer the shootouts. When I play I hear a couple, few getting called but they are obv not very popular. I've heard players I respect saying that they won't play them bec the juice is too high. Do you care to offer your thoughts on that?
My thoughts are that you can easily beat the rake. Don't chop, play to win the whole $1k, and occasionally do saves or offer ppl their $ HU if you have a chip lead. Basically try to take it down for as much as you can as fast as you can. I think that winning 1/8.5 is pretty feasible and thats how you beat the rake. I don't really feel its necessary to tip after everybody pays an initial $5 so the dealer takes $50 for about 90 minutes.
It obviously depends on the dealer as some I tip because they're good/fast and knowledgeable and some just are awful.

I think for ppl who play SNGs well they have a chance to be the most profitable game in the house. For those who say the structure is too fast or its too turbo-ey, they havent played any then because its easy to beat the structure. Its not ideal but it is a great chance to have good ROI. I have rarely finished outside of top-4, with addition of last longers theres definitely lots of $ to be made.

Are the ppl you respect SNG players? Their edge in this game is through the roof..to put in $120 for an hour and walk away with 1k is an excellent investment IMO

IDK if they're SNG players but they are 'aware' players where so many have no clue. I did ok online up to the $30 SNG level, my Sharkscope rating improved after DONs were introduced but I think the shootout must require a diff strat. The other prob is that unlike online SNGs you can't play a bunch of them at once and can't even get into another shootout right away when you bust. I might give one a try on your say-so.

I leave table for 5 minutes, and when I come back it has gone 10 handed. Instead of putting the extra player in the correct spot for 10 handed ( the 5 or 6), they shoe horned him next to my seat (the 8). I guess i was the only seat that couldnt complain.

Because the 4 seat has an enormous pile of chips, we play with 5 players crammed on one end of the table, and I am wedged in half the normal space next to a drunk. The night floor did not stay to help her move her chips and ensure the table was squared.

I pay $3,000 a month in time To sit in this uncomfortable seat.

Pretty sure 10 handed is my biggest complain from the casino, and the head floorman knows it is. At least if you play mixed games, you don't have to worry about 10 handed.

But then you don't have two (full!) brown chip games going for five+ hours

What's the big deal w/ 10-handed? CAZ uses tournament sized tables, not the small things that Gila River has. So STAND UP FOR YOURSELVES and show the dealer where everybody should be like I do if necessary.

I don't mind 10 handed.

I don't mind where they sit the new player.

I do mind when the floor wedges someone in next to my seat and doesn't square up the table. And when I said so the night floor mumbled something about the four seat moving their chips and walked away to avoid any further discussion, like he always does whenever a customer is unhappy or needs something. After all, there is only so many free hours the night floor can spend shooting the breeze away from the tables, why should customer needs interfere with that?

And the table was never completely squared for some time. I can only request it so many times when the dealer is intent on ignoring the problem.

1. You're too nice, imo. Whenever that happens to me I get up and show ppl where they should be if my constant haranguing the dealer doesn't get the proper results.

2. I'm pretty sure which night floor you are talking about and that's a problem right there in itself.

10 handed ends when there is no 10th replacement or when all players from the broken game have gotten in?

Generally when all the players from the broken game have gotten in but when I used to play overnight there were times when some random would wander in in the early a.m. and the floor would seat them.

And it's good they do, it's good customer service to ensure players can play and not sit around. And you pointed out the oversize tables make it less uncomfortable than you would think.

Or it is with the good floors at least, as they make sure the table gets squared up.
