The only games that Bravo matters for are the ones that are inconsistent but have a lot of competition for seats in good games. Read: the mixed game and the occasional 5/10.

I use it for the regular games to see how long the waiting list is so I can mentally prepare myself on the drive there.

I'm mostly interested in the 5-10+ spread games so it really helps to see if there is a game (or a reasonable list) running before I spend a couple of hours going up to Phoenix.

But I have to say for me it is good if they automatically log you out when you get up from a game. I almost never remember to log out at the front desk (a sign of impending senility I guess).

Don't disagree with the lol at 500 max bet, but those games still used to be pretty good. And agree that it has not been running lately. Even the 5-10 omaha high game is now apparently down to 5-5, 1k max buyin. The 3-5 HE (or 5-5 omaha) is ok but not much better than our 2-5 games here on weekends. so not really worth the drive to Phoenix.

The official 5/10 rarely runs because it is actually being played with 3,5 blinds. Plus it is prone to breaking when just a couple players bust or quit. So seeing it run on your phone is even a smaller convenience over calling the girls at the sign in board.

Also we learned above that the green chip game is ad hoc as to what they are really playing so Bravo doesn't tell you that much.

Yeah this Bravo is so we get fewer bowls of fried rice comped on our card. Nothing more.

I'll elaborate on my point of why the current system is much better.

1- Call ins- if talking stick allows call ins like every other casino
CAZ doesn't allow call-ins.

Quote:
2- marking players in and out when players leave the table. With bravo when a player misses the blinds the dealer has to remove them from the table and then add them as present when the player comes back. Thus slowing down the game and making us collect less time and money for food.
The current system blows, if you forget to log out, or forget to re-login before 8 hours, you get zero credit for time played. Bravo is a huge improvement.

Quote:
3- long term- talking stick has amazing games at almost every limit and variant. Pros from around the usa will be seeing the amount of games running and how often they run and be very interested in hoping in.
95% of poker players are losing players, the vast majority of players checking Bravo are players who will be good for the games.

And 3-5 and 20-40 grinders aren't traveling here to play at Talking Stick unless they flunked math. The costs of travel + rooms is greater than any advantage in soft games unless you are playing 75 and up. And there aint enough 75 games to attract those players either.

One other point, my experience is the girls at the low limit board never know what is running in high stakes, and the high limit board never answers the phone. And even if you get the low limit board to answer your questions there is nothing like having a real-time display of every single game at ever single limit so you can see 10 minutes later that a new game has started.

Is Bravo the system where they swipe your card at the table and the dealer pushes one of those buttons when a player is active/away from the table? If so, I've never experienced any game or dealer being slowed down by it.

lol, I wouldn't be surprised if you told the person that did this that there was a mistake that person wouldn't be able to find it.

Do they ever put the tv sound on in the poker room? Playoffs start this weekend. With no sportsbook, is there anywhere in the place good for watching the games?

I am pretty sure there is a way to get sound from the TVs through headphones but I don't know how to do it.

Yeah, they only have sound on in the poker room for like the Super Bowl, some Cardinals games, and like the Kentucky Derby for the 5 minutes that is on.

There is an app you can get on your smartphone where you can listen to feeds for any game. Ask the floor for help.

There's been a change to the BBJ:

A new 'Super BBJ', quad Jacks or better beaten. Starts at 10K w/ 1,500 added daily if not hit. Old BBJ is still there but starts at 5K w/ 500 added daily.

I'm not sure what I should think about it, tbh.

Where's the extra super BBJ money coming from? I like the idea, since it'll make for a good size new BBJ, but hopefully they don't increase the drop to $2 to cover it.

Before, they added $2000 every day to the reg jp. Now it's 1500 for the super and 500 to the regular. It's been a $2 jackpot drop forever.

I don't really like it. The min on a players share jackpot is now down to $179, not much of a jackpot. I would rather go back to the graveyard $25k added. Then again not everyone has the opportunity to play graveyard.

Shifting the money into a bbjp that is almost never hit is pure Vegas thinking.

Based on what's happened when this has been done before the Super BBJ should be hit appx 12-15 times/yr or so. Normally I prefer promos that pay smallish amounts to many ppl rather than a big payout to just a few. OTOH, it may bring in more players who are willing to play long shots bec 'IT'S A JP HAND!' I guess I'm kind of 'meh' on it.

How much you want to bet, I say quad jacks or better do not get beat 12 to 15 times a year.

The bbj pot is all players money.Does anyone know how much tha casino takes out for adminastation fees a month or how much interest the casino makes on your money. I would like to know but dout if players will ever know the facts. Unless you can find out the rules from AZ gambling board.

In the past w/ similar qualifiers (can't remember exactly) it took about a month to hit. If it creates more games it'll hit sooner but I'm not married to my projection. As for the admin fee, they get it anyway. As for any interest it can't be much if they require zero risk.

ETA: If they made any money at all from interest the manager would've kept the promo fund at 800K+ like the old one did. One of the best things he's done is lower it to the 350K range.
