Making people play more hands with incorrect odds? If you were playing $0.10/$0.20 it might be correct to chase hands to win the $200 bonus. If you are playing $8.00/$16.00 it isn't correct. People putting in money incorrectly = +EV

People are going to see every flop and basically every turn, especially if they win a few lots early. Take the high hand every 15 min which is worth maybe $3-4 hour tops. Surely this will be worth quite a bit more than $3-4 if you play decent and can adjust for it

Players who play too many hands already are given a big incentive to stay and play even more hands for 2 hours straight. The house essentially is rebating most of the rake back into the game to boot.

How can that be bad?

I'll give you that it rewards loose play which is good for the game. Although a few people with a yellow chip lead will go on lock down in the blinds so someone else can't win a fully raked pot.

What bugs me is that they are punishing people for merging tables, or changing them. I spend plenty of time in short handed hell because some people like to pay rake. This is going to make it worse because no one will want to break the game. Now two adjacent short tables will always try to outlast the other one.

other problems include spreading the T chips into the cash game where some of them will get lost. Also there is no realistic way to stop people from passing them to each other. I predict this will not be a long lived thing.

Oh how I hope this is true. Now I have some ammunition to convince people to play short.

The problem is, playing short handed at these stakes is only beneficial if you can get a rake reduction because otherwise it's just too much to overcome. And I think the casino is pretty stingy about reducing rake when there is some special promotion going on.

It was stated above that the award is only given for fully raked pots, so I imagine you would get nothing if the game got short enough to drop the rake.

Went to play the super bounty tournament on Saturday. They changed the bounties from $100 to $50 without any advance notice to the players. I don't mind the change as it increases the payouts but why not tell the players ahead of time? They put a sheet a paper on each table to notify players just before the tournament started. Typical stuff from those who run the poker room.

I would start a 'Disgusting things you've seen while people eat at the table' in the main forum if I knew it wouldn't aggravate Rapini. My fave: Guy's eating a hot dog, big glob of relish/mustard falls off onto the felt, he picks it up and shoves it into his gaping maw. Yech.

I can't speak for Rapini, but I wouldn't have a problem with that thread.

It can be almost as bad to hear. When some of the regs at my local room get food, I have to take a walk if I don't wanna puke.

Will cutting the bounties in half for that tourney bring the turnout back to the 400+ players?

Can anyone give me a rundown on what the rules of spread limit are? I was operating on the assumption thAt the only difference was a 500 bet max, but was just told that was not the case

4 total bets/raises allowed on a non heads up street. Other than that, I don't think there is one outside of max buy-in. What happened?

other real difference with nl is the 3 raise limit per round (if multiway), as in a limit game

I think Pope and I may be saying the same thing, you can bet and no more than 3 raises. But I thought if you bring it in for a raise there are only 2 more raises allowed. True?

You are talking preflop. And I think that is the case. So yeah, you can't get into 5 betting/6 betting preflop.
