Talked to the main floor guy why not make the tournys better structure. He said that since we live in an area with mostly older people he cant have a tourny go for 2 or 3 full days.

Make a copy of aria daily tournament structure and show it to this guy. They take like eight hours to play. The way they chop at TSR it should be over in about five hours

Apologies if this has been covered ad nauseum itt, but I couldn't find recent answers after a few minutes of looking: What's the PLO scene like here and in AZ generally? And how often is OE spread and at what stakes? Thanks for any help.

8 hours to play, caz would want absolutely nothing to do with that and I can't say I blame them.

Maybe we do need Bravo.

There is no pot limit in Arizona casinos. There is a 5 to 500 spread limit Omaha high game that occasionally goes. The betting pays no regard to pot size.

for limit there is 4/8 Omha hilo every day and 8/16 O.E. occasionally.

8-16 and 20-40 0E every day.

Also, I agree that Talking Stick management is unlikely to ever spread an 8 hour tourney as a regular thing and I don't blame them either. Nightly tourneys start at 7 and would end at 3am w/o a chop? The field sizes would shrink dramatically what w/ all of the older folks that would have to give them up.

Thanks for the quick answers, guys. For everyone's sake I hope the room implements bravo soon as promised.

How often do OE games bigger than 20-40 get off?

I'm only saying that about dailies. I think there is definitely a lot of room for improvement with regard to structures for weekend / monthly / quarterly / state tourneys, though to be fair I haven't played a mtt at caz in a few years.

They generally won't spread bigger OE because it would hurt 20 to much. Larger mix games with more draw heavy games run daily

I agree with the nightly but 11 am starts is no problem at all.

A large amount of the people who play the daily want to be home around 5pm.

IDK about that, pope. It might work out but don't the 11am tourneys have an outrageous rake? IOW, are they even worth playing?

I definitely think they can be profitable for a good player because the players are so bad, especially if you play frequently and qualify for the quarterly points promotion freerolls or whatever they are. But I think your hourly rate grinding them would be pretty lousy.

It would be even worse if they extended the structure.

then play cash..If you are going to a poker room and only have four or five hours to play I dont think you should be thinking of playing a tournament. When you play a tournament a TSR you get one orbit per level, that is a joke.If the buyins were $20.00 or $30.00 then I get it,but paying $100.00 or more you should get at least 30min levels at least through the whole event.

You realize this is just a completely arbitrary distinction based upon what's best for you "?

I play online or drive the 4 hrs to vegas .I would like to see a better structured tourney once in awhile.I also realize that due to lack of tournament competition from other casinos that TSR can just keep doing what they do.Pretty sad

Or it could be that what they have now is the type of structure most of the players want.

The main reason poker rooms have tournaments is to bring in players for the cash games, where they make more money. Vegas rooms are in dire need of more players the vast majority of the time. Local rooms like CAZ and the San Jose rooms don't have that problem. They would rather the players be playing cash than tournaments.

The reality is that the regs do like a short tourney so that's obv what will continue. Still how many long term winners are there in a $95+30 buyin with 20min levels?
