Here's an IMDB related spoiler for that:

Spoiler:

The actor who played the father is credited in one additional episode this season, the finale.

Spoiler:
That's good to hear. 6 episodes seems way too short, hopefully the finale is an action packed 2 hr episode.

Overall an awesome show, but I am getting annoyed by the behavior of the Zombies. Some Zombies don't realise when you stand next to them (e.g. the female one that the brother of the racist shot in the department store), but then they can smell the racist on the roof and come for him? C'mon.....

Yeah the nature of the zombies behavior ruins the show for me.

+1 Right up untill they take a bullet in the head. Then their good in my book.

I understand a lot of the nittery but being in a mediaschool for 3 years, 3 years ago I have now learned to block out all that I have learnt. Helps me enjoy shows so much more.
The only thing I didn't like was the generic hospital scene where the ceiling is ripped to pieces and cords hanging down. How the did the zombies destroy the ceiling? It's not Aliens. Thats about the only nittery I got.

Also really hope Shane get's shunned from the community as imo he's one of the more interesting characters to follow(Not saying much though..) and Rick meet up with the father and kid from EP01.

They could hear the racist, noise attracts them as well, that is why they snuck up on the zombie in the store.

Nit fail imo.

he was purposely trying to attract the zombies so his wife would show up and he could kill her. but he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger.

wasn't the one the brother shot eating? i'd assume zombies are pretty distracted when they are stuffing their face.

true but the guns are going to be scattered about and gun stores are going to be in populated areas and populated areas equals zombies and as stated already it would be assumed that they have already been looted

i think he's suggesting that they break into some rural homes which are highly likely to yield guns, not necessarily gun stores.

By the way, this last ep was another example of why I hate "previously on" bits before TV shows.

They basically constitute spoilers, sometimes more than others. In this ep, they showed the bag with the guns and you knew it was going to come up**. I hope they don't show the grenade on the "previously on" in the ep where he finally uses it to blow up a horde.

** Speaking of that bag, as much as I didn't like cartoon-racist-dude, I do kind of hope he somehow found the bag and they discover him strapped Rambo style and going ballistic on some zombies.

He was talking about the female zombie in the store when they returned. I also thought it was weird that she did not seem to notice them.

agree with general consensus that the pilot was awesome/the zombies look cool/the show seemed promising but all of the dialogue and interpersonal relationship stuff filling up the show now is really bad

I'm a little surprised that the last episode isn't getting more love. I watched last night and thought it was the best of the three.

The opening sequence w racist guy was super creepy and emotional (and easily was the best performance in the show's 3 episode history). Then the emotion of him returning to his wife, the dynamic between wife & boyfriend, and the emotion of him leaving again was way more interesting then a videogame of zombie zombie zombie kill kill kill (which it seems we're going back to next ep). The threat of zombie is much more interesting then seeing them get slaughtered over and over again imo.

A episode

the one thing thats confusing is why the camp hasnt set up a motor pool of cars ready to go at a moments notice. cars are safe to be in and provide a speedy getaway from any threats, and should be easy to steal or find
The Walking Dead Quote

The way ive been viewing it is the camp are really quite terrible survivors. This is partly due to the overly cautious nature of their current de facto leader and just generally because they lack the concentration of skills required to get through. A strong leader would have overcome one, a high skill base would have overcome the other.

This is further emphasised by the lack of guns, the one vehicle they have being more or less out of action, no border patrol and when they did have a zed enter their territory they had little planned methods to dispatch it basically leaving them wailing at a zombie without even making it safe until the second redneck came back and finally what skills they have amongst them are not being shared - for instance one of the few seemingly able to hunt is hunting alone and the guy who can recognise safe and unsafe mushrooms is not teaching the others who are gathering them.

They haven't done a very good job of telling us what's left of Atlanta, or what happened when it fell. It may be that there's less to scavenge from there than we know, but I sure hope this gets resolved in some fashion, because otherwise the characters do just look like dumbasses (which I suppose may be the point).

In terms of their defense plan, based on the zombie at the camp, and the one they got when they rescued Rick, they appear to just beat the zombie's head to **** as a matter of course. Why they stopped after poet thinking beard guy knocked his head off is another question.
The Walking Dead Quote

But seriously it seems like it's been weeks since the outbreak and the camp is full of droolers who, in a world full of abandoned cars and grocery stores, need to eat squirrels and barter with their fellow survivors for rubber tubing.

It hurts the show. The first black dude Grimes met was like a goddamn expert on walker psychology and these people seem more interested in doing laundry and beating their wives than surviving.

You should see him hack a satellite.

His competence in the face of a festival of idiots only makes this character more similar to the one he played in Jericho. Guy who knows **** in a post apocalyptic world is a pretty odd bit of typecasting.

This is the point. They were barely ticking along before. Grimes and black dude will show up and help whip them into shape.

The fact they dont have the bare essentials is good for the show. There will be lots of scenes like Rick wanting his kid to shoot like the black kid can, the mother doesnt, Shawn talking about keeping them alive just fine before Rick got there, trying to hang on to the remnants of civilisations after the civilisation has long been undead and so on.

It makes it easier to nit about how bad they are, but if they werent the show would be less interesting. Imo anyway.

(yes, i feel like a bad bad man for making the civilisation is now undead pun)
