I don't get why they are always called "walkers" or something like that. Are we supposed to believe that no zombie movies or books or anything have been created? just call them zombies

Very low population, and zombies would be a non-factor for more than half the year. Guns in most households, plenty of food and infrastructure, and the military is somewhere around 7% of the population IIRC. Even when they thaw out in the smaller villages it's unlikely they'd be able to handle the terrain to make it to a place like Fairbanks. There's just not a lot going in favor of zombies up there.

EDIT: Plus I'd like to see a bear kick a zombie's ass one time
Obviously the darkness will draw the vampires there, so you have to contend with that.

it's like people in this thread are having a contest to see who can be the biggest nit

Yeah obviously in real life he would have spent an hour trying to find a hack saw, then 20 minutes sawing through the chain. (seriously, if he HAD tried to open that door, the nits here would have had aneurysms.)

That seems to be the implication, yes. It's more interesting if no one has heard of zombies before the outbreak. Probably there will be minor plot points that depend on it.

Awesome scene that sorta came out of nowhere. Not computer animated either, a real man as zombie fist fighting a shark at the bottom of the ocean.

Someone tell AMC its okay to have **** actually happen on TV shows.

I liked Rubicon, but damn was it slow. From the first episode I get the impression this show will be similarly paced.

Which tilts me.

That's like a universal trope of zombie movies, it's practically tradition.

the nittery itt is due to the lack of stuff that happened in the ep. so not much substance to discus = shift toward nittery. so i think once the ball gets rolling, it will improve.

what i dont understand, is why this occurs in the boardwalk empire thread, considering there is 100 new interesting things to discuss following each ep.

This storyline has to be for the women who watch the show because it tilted me.

I can totally understand him getting left behind without malice involved, in the middle of all the chaos it might have been impossible or suicide at the time to attempt to rescue him, besides he's in a coma, when you get there are you really just gonna lug his unconsicous body around with you as you try to escape?

Just watched the pilot. Pretty awesome. The scene with the guy trying to shoot his wife was super intense. I agree that it seems weird that they left him in the hospital but I'm sure they'll cover it. It sort of annoyed me how when he first met the black dude and his son he wasn't like "WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON AROUND HERE???" and it was like halfway through dinner before the dad was like "so, you're probably wondering what's going on around here..." But whatever, this show rules. Opening scene was legit.

Yea I thought the father of the father and son duo did a great job, especially with the scene fsoyars just mentioned.

He doesn't know what zombies are, how is this so hard to understand. He has no reason to assume anything other than there is a person in there.

When he woke up and the flowers dead and it was clear the world had passed him by - I figured his partner would have shacked up with his wife because I watch too many movies and it's the obvious thing to do in a story like this.

I suppose the fact that I knew from the opening credits which characters were regs helped. Speaking of the credits, I didn't like 'em. This fan made one from a couple of months back was way better, the show should have listened to the online campaign and used it.

He doesn't have to know about zombies to realize that he's in no shape to try to open up a chained up door with somebody with really creepy hands on the other side when there is blood and mayhem and mutilated bodies all around him. How is this so hard to understand? For all he knows, whoever is behind the doors is what did this.

totally unrealistic how they used an abrams tank in the end scene when those don't even have a hatch underneath. lol how dumb do they think the viewers are
The Walking Dead Quote

In a universe where zombies can exist they didnt phase out the escape hatch when they changed from the Patton to the Abram.

Because in that world escaping underneath a tank is more important and the designers understood that, ldo.
