Wasn't there a shot in an earlier episode where someone in the camp walks over a string with metal cans attached, which they must've set up to make noise if they have visitors. That's a smart idea, but then how did 20+ visitors show up without any noise?

the nursing home thing wasn't really bad, but the path they took introducing it to us was lol bad.

Ya they point I dont get. They def set up a perimeter with this and now I guess we are supposed to forget about it or that the zombies hurdled over them.

I returned the Book One I bought at BN. Then I ordered the Compendium One off Amazon.

I should be reading some good graphic novel zombie stuff in a week or so!

agree with you here. that scene was awful, nearly as bad as the surprise grandma resolution to the standoff.

eh, I thought that line was pretty good. Young redneck brother is one of my favorite characters, though.

the zombie population doesn't necessarily seem representative of Altanta.

There is a reason why we post in OOTV, we dont know how to play A9o in the CO either.

They had some degree of perimeter but it seemed very limited. The cans were some distance away from the main camp, there were huge gaps in the perimeter and we didnt see just how much it covered (ie did they cover they whole perimeter, we know it doesnt cover the road to the city for example) and how effective they would be if they were hit.

Frankly it looked amateurish and seemed nothing more than some cans on a piece of string that wouldnt make much noise if any if they were hit. Its safe to assume that like everything else they made some effort but it wasnt particularly good.

a watch is hardly useless post apocalypse.

You can also determine direction using a common or analog watch--one that has hands. The direction will be accurate if you are using true local time, without any changes for daylight savings time. Remember, the further you are from the equator, the more accurate this method will be. If you only have a digital watch, you can overcome this obstacle. Quickly draw a watch on a circle of paper with the correct time on it and use it to determine your direction at that time.

In the northern hemisphere, hold the watch horizontal and point the hour hand at the sun. Bisect the angle between the hour hand and the 12 o'clock mark to get the north-south line (Figure 18-2). If there is any doubt as to which end of the line is north, remember that the sun rises in the east, sets in the west, and is due south at noon. The sun is in the east before noon and in the west after noon.
you could also use it to coordinate an attack on a Hispanic nursing home gang -- one of the evil ones that is.

But yes, the writing isn't great.

I'm convinced the show will spiral into terrible subplots just like jericho did. I really hope it picks up though. I wont give up just yet. But like my gf said they pretty much hit the climax at the end of episode 2 with him finding his wife and kid. Been downhill since.
jericho was awesome and NOWHERE near as bad as this show. jericho did have some lame subplots like the fire but a lot of them were pretty cool.

Sepinwall liked this and something else that was pretty iffy last week (SoA maybe?). He's a bit more forgiving in general than some of us in here. While I tend to agree with him at times, he's also a guy who still willingly watches Grey's Anatomy.

After the stink that was kicked up about Resident Evil 5's African zombies, it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to play it safe.

ok i've been way too kind for this show

what I want to see is badass people trying to survive in a zombieworld, much like I would do if something like this occurs.
Sure, most people in the world are morons so it's std for people to get killedbecause they are too ******ed to put up guards in zombieland.. but kill them and lets see the story of badass brother-of-racist-etc survival people.

It's a series, not a movie so plzzzzzz use the airtime to make something awesome instead of something with 3/4th ******ed people.
Man, wish they can use this series to relive what I imagine would happen if I happen to wake up in zombieland
(also..reminder to people.. watch zombieland! its awesome)

They're saving him for the last episode of the season to trick people into watching next season.

Season one is the introduction to season two. Think of it like the first chapter in a book. They have introduced a lot of deadwood to be killed off as a demonstration that stupid people deserve to die as zombie fodder, leaving behind the core group of awesomeness.

The only characters who seem to know what they are doing are:

The black dude from Jericho(only one episode)
The racist one handed guy(only one episode)
The custodian at the nursing home(only one episode)

This show has not distributed screen time very well by competence.

All they have to do is show racist guy looking at a picture of his kid in his wallet and crying and he's Woody Harrelson in Zombieland.
