Tyrant was actually kind of interesting but that probably means it will bomb in ratings and get cancelled.

FX doesn't care about ratings.

This will come as a shock to everyone I'm sure, but TheChamp is wrong again.

I'm really hoping the show is better than the books. I read the trilogy about 1 month ago and wasn't impressed. The series started off really good but went downhill with each book.

The fans and cast of Terriers disagrees with you.

One of the best shows in the last few years got cancelled b/c of low ratings.

Been following for a while and not posted.
  • Fargo was really good. I haven't seen the movie but I gather there are a few differences.
  • Modern Family has got worse but still good in places. Luke is awful, Manny doesn't help. Stuck with it though because it's 20 minutes long so whatever.
  • Finished Season 1 of The 100 and mehh.. slightly better than average CW stuff. It's been renewed. I watched a whole season of Secret Circle though so what can you do.
  • Recently binged the entire 6 seasons of Parks & Recreation which I really enjoyed. Not sure when Season 7 is back but apparently it's the last.
  • Suits is back for Season 4 and has started off much as the last series ended.
  • Defiance is back for Season 2 - it's still crap, don't recommend.
  • The Flash S01E01 has indeed been leaked but not sure I'll bother as I've not got into Arrow, didn't finish Smallville etc. Worthwhile?

Currently getting through Continuum Season 1 and enjoying it so far. I think I'll wait on a few more episodes of Tyrant before I decide.

I watch too much TV.

Oh wow there's a USA remake of "The Bridge" too? I watched the UK/France remake last year, "The Tunnel" - was decent. Will watch this one too, but prob not complete it if the story is the same - not sure what to expect but obv don't want spoilers if it's different.

Absolutely hated Tyrant. No pilot has pissed me off so much in a long, long time.

Ex-pat protagonist who turned his back on his ****hole country 20 years ago was ok, if way under-played. Middle Eastern hotspot and his estranged family were reasonably compelling (if really, really cliche). His American family, however - A bunch of ****ing ******s. Only possible reason I would ever watch a second episode would be to see those three characters executed. The wife in particular - a clueless, sheltered, unsupportive, bitch. Hatedhatedhated them.

Your husband doesn't want to return to his father's murdering, repressive dictatorship and you can't figure out why? You think it's important for him to confront said psychopath strongman in the name of "closure" and to "lift the emotional weight" he's been carrying all these years? Are you ****ing kidding me? When things start to go bad, he tries to GTFO to avoid getting mired in the upcoming chaos and very likely save all your lives but you want to stop and whine about feelings? Diediediediedie!

I have no idea if it's the same story but the US one was very good.

I haven't seen the original, but the U.S. version of The Bridge is an excellent show, and well worth watching. Season 2 comes back in two weeks.

CMAR, A+...lol

Watching Fargo the movie will give many even more appreciation for what the TV show did.

I watched the original The Bridge which was very good, and I had heard of the US and UK remakes.

Does anyone know if its the exact same story? Also is it the same format, i.e. bilingual?
I'd be interesting in watching the different adaptations of it.

Since they take place in different countries, with different hot buttons, they'll probably all be a little different.

Drugs and human smuggling are big themes in the U.S. version, because that's a hot button issue on the border of Texas and Mexico (it takes place in the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez metropolitan area). It is a bilingual show. When people are in the U.S. they speak English for the most part, but when it's in Mexico, it's all Spanish when there's no need for translation.

A funny piece of trivia is that this show has an amazing amount of instances where the f word is used in Spanish (on basic cable, where the f word is not allowed), but translated to say something different in the subtitles...lol.

I'm more looking forward to The Bridge coming back then just about any other show coming back for the next couple of months.

Rectify started last week, and Franklin & Bash is in August if you watch that. TNT has a Bourne like show that will also be airing starting the same night called Legends. NBC has two comedies called Welcome to Sweden and Working the Engels starting July 10. I'm also giving a shot to Extant, though I'll probably regret it. If you're watching Under the Dome, that comes back, as well.

Of returning shows, there's no doubt that The Bridge and Rectify are the picks of the litter.

I'd need a full second season to put it up there, but it's definitely an excellent show.
