A paragraph in Sepinwall's review this week reminded me of your problem with Aaron Paul.

Quote:
Jesse, meanwhile, continues to embrace his inner bad guy, potentially ruining the life of that poor girl at the gas station with his testimonial about the awesome splendor of crystal meth, just because he didn't think to check his wallet before filling up the RV. Aaron Paul has been a revelation as this dead-inside, unapologetic villainous Jesse - we knew he could act, but to be able to take the character to such a different place while still seeming clearly Jesse is no small thing.

what do u guys think about Syklar? I forgot the exact quote but she says something to the effect that benneke is sucha good guy and such but in actually hes is just as phucked up as walt. The way he constantly tries to cheat on his earnings. Does anyone think that now Skylar is banging Benneke she is going to sign a messed up report and gets in trouble with the feds bf walt does. I would lol so much if that happens.

pretty much every time i see skyler on screen i hope something terrible happens to her. i used to not mind her (she had a point ldo) but now she's just such a raging bitch it's incomprehensible.

anyway i don't see that happening to her (but maybe to ted), but who knows, as long as gilligan is writing this as a stream-of-conscious it's pretty tough to predict story arc with any accuracy.
04-12-2010 , 12:52 PM
Nit comment that bothered me big time. How did Jessie pump gas without prepaying? Is there any gas station in the world that would let a 1980's RV roll up, fill up, and then pay after? Especially one in the middle of no where.

He manufactured meth. That's just a big no-no in her mind and cannot be excused. Her bro-in-law is DEA FFS and has been telling her stories about meth for probably 10++ years.

+ remember how pissed she was for simple shoplifting..

Twist that thought this way. Benneke does get caught, embezzlement, whatever and gets hauled off and he takes the fall for her (if he has too), then Skylar is left without the revenge affair.. Maybe unlikely, but this may push her back to Walt... I can see this happening.

that is not a twist. a twist is if benneke is revealed to be the true head of the cartel and is only using the company as vehicle for money laundering.

This is never ever going to happen. This might happen on some weaksauce tv show, but not on BB.

What people seem to think is, that Walt and Skyler are getting back together. I think this is never going to happen. The show is more about Walt losing everything than Skyler and Walt going through rough times.

it would interesting if they got back together under the stipulation that walt quit manufactoring and her stop being sucha ho bag. But what is interesting now is that walt cannot get out if he wanted to. He has pollos following him and giving him his "cut".

Walt got bigger problems than his wife already.

I actually thought that was what was in progress when he was bugging the house. The twins show up, think he was the owner, and whack him.

Now I don't think it will, but my track record of predicting things is awful.

Brilliant episode.

The scene with Jesse at the gas station was brilliant and chilling all at the same time. The fact that he was so cold and uncaring while the cop was walking up behind him was a symbol of what's to come.

+1 that the scene with the pot plant was pretty awesome as well.

After seeing that green light right at the end of the episode, I think we can be pretty sure that the lab is going to start up again pretty soon.

I think at some point Walt Jr. distressed about his parents incompatibilty gets hooked on crystal meth trying to cope.

It has nothing to do with how complex it is; it's the fact that some of the chemical processes require more than one thing to be done at once, or more than one thing to be monitored at once, or Bad Things Happen. Hence, two people.

Apparently I am ******ed, because Jesse clearly did it himself, but all the research I did indicated that having two people was a necessity. (It could be that you need two people for the process when you use pseudoephedrine, but not methylamine.)

I am not a cook.

The way they r doing it (which im not going to talk about in vast detail) is real easy. Its two steps. The first is ridculously easy (a child could it). The second is difficult step if you dont know what you are doing because some of these things are highly flammable because they either require hydrogen gas or produce it but anyone with any training can do these things. Walt says did you use Platnium Dioxide (also known as adams catalyst) you have to add hydrogen gas as the reductant in this process hence very very flammable. The other that he says is mercury aluminium amalgam which is run in water and produces the hydrogen gas (as reductant) and aluminium hydroxide. a little safer but produces mercury waste which is bad for the disposal reasons also probably really bad for who ever taking there ****. However there are much safer reagents that they could use for the reduction that you can just mix and walk away. however u can look those up for yerself.

cranston was just on the daily show. he had a full head of hair, no van dyke, no glasses, and he sounds nothing like walt. kinda strange to see.

A lot of people saw it for 7 seasons!

Which is why I thought it was strange to see him as Walt.

The few episodes of Malcolm I could stomach were pretty terrible, but my main complaint was Cranston. I thought he was a horrible over-actor: constantly mugging, hamming it up, whoring for the camera, and basically not understanding comic timing or nuance. He was shrill and unlikable and turned me off of an otherwise still not-great sitcom.

Well, I sure swallowed my words with Breaking Bad. He's one of the best actors on television thanks to this role, and while he still mugs some facial expressions, it all seems to work. The depth to which he sinks himself into the Walter White fabric is really impressive and I have nothing but good things to say about him now. But I still think it's strange to see him not sucking.

Anyone else amused by Walt's jealousy towards Jesse manufacturing the blue meth by himself? He obviously felt like he wasn't necessary in the manufacturing process anymore and lashed out at Jesse, saying the meth was "cloudy" and his work "shoddy". I loved that part.

Then the car drives off, I totally forgot he had all of his stuff on the top of the car and then the box falls on the street and the picture frame cracks. I was laughing on my ouch I found it hilarious and disturbing at the time. This show rocks.
