Yeah. Not like anyone cares but just for clarification, they agreed to sell me one at that price after I disputed on eBay that it isn't fair that the product's battery expires in a year. I lost the dispute, but the company made a compromise with me as stated above.

Just received these (Sennheiser Momentum)

Holy **** its sound is precise (was used to Bose QC3), also super comfy, completely forgot about it after a couple minutes

Going through every .flac file in my mp3, started with Daft Punk R.A.M, can't wait for "Touch"

How big are the ear holes? I need big ones.
05-24-2013 , 09:54 AM
At first i thought the holes might be small by just looking at it but they sit on top of the ear smoothly with minimal pressure, the back of the ear just fits in with no problem

don't have anything to measure but the hole is exactly the width of a pack of cigarettes in eight, the width is 2/3rd that

Love the look, good reviews, and was looking for a pair of closed.

I have the HD595s and HD650s with over-ear (could wear them for days), not sure how on-ear would be, grrr.

are the hd650's much better then the HD600? Just got the 600 with amplifier and they are amazing. Been listening music for 2 hours and its a pleasure. Totally worth the extra money if you like music. The purity and perfection of bass and trebble is just amazing.

I did have the HD598, and you really hear the difference.

The HD600's are more true to the music, while the HD650's are slightly more engaging...while not as true to the music as the HD600's, sound emphasized enough to make them a more enjoyable experience to a lot of people. It's all based on preference apparently, and I'm just going off stuff I have read since it is discussed frequently. After a lot of deliberation, I'm leaning towards the HiFiMan HE400's. Among several reasons, the most appealing one being that they are the easiest to drive.

I haven't listened to the HD600 or done comparisons, but the HD650s and the cheap Schiit stack fulfill my needs and sound great (was looking at cabling cause I like the intertwined shielded aesthetic but the prices are ridiculous).

Never gave a review here but I have the HD650 since New Year's (along with a portable FiiO e7 amp) and I could not praise them enough. Sounds absolutely amazing. Also very comfortable but not practical if you need any sort of isolation from noises.

Looking for recommendations for over the ear headphones. I've got a big head ( wear size 7 7/8 hat). Somewhere in the $150 range , give or take a little. Thanks.

Audio Technica ATH-A900X

The sound quality is absurdly awesome at it's price point. MSRP was $300 I think, but now it's going for $160

These are probably the most popular closed back headphone in your price range. They're pretty much the king of entry level audiophile cans right now. I've never owned a pair, but had the slightly more portable Pro700MK2s and found that after listening for over an hour or so my head would start to hurt because the clamping force was too tight. Tried stretching out the headband but to no avail.

I currently rock Beyerdynamic DT770 80Ohms which are super comfy and great sounding. Little pricier but if you have a large head might be worth the consideration

Here are some links with a ton of reviews:

Thanks. Just ordered a pair of the Beyerdynamic 80ohms. I'll post an update when they arrive.

Those require an amp to get the best out of them. gg

Hey, looking to purchase a new pair of earbuds and hopefully someone can lend some input. I use bigger headphones for poker and when I'm just relaxing but like to have earbuds for working out and when I'm on the move. Always just used the standard white apple earbuds that come with an ipod but those sometimes have a tendency to fall out and they're not as durable as I would like. Last pair I had were Skullcandy but those fell apart after a few months (not sure if I got a defective pair or what). My primary concerns is that I'm looking for something durable and comfortable (I don't mind having in-ear headphones) that will stay on when I'm working out or being active and that won't fall apart (I sometimes fall asleep with my headphones on and roll over them).

I would ideally like to find something under ~$100 as I don't think I need another pair of $300+ headphones, but any and all input is appreciated. Thanks.

It takes a minute or two to put on, but once you get it on, it's pretty stable.

What headphones can this not be said for? Obv better amped, but they're fine unamped.
06-12-2013 , 06:33 AM
ok so im thinking of jumping on the HD650 bandwagon.. I plan on getting a Little Dot MK IV SE tube amp..

now im looking for a DAC..

I plan on running music from a MacBook Pro and use its CD drive if I need.

The little dot DAC looks average.. can anyone recommend something?
I will eventually add bookshelf speakers but havent decided exactly which ones yet..

M50, HE400, K550, A900X, SA5000 to name a few

I mean it's like you're saying the HD800 sounds good unamped. It might, but you're still a long shot away from using its full potential. The bullet is already pulled though so w/e, the guy will probably be happy with the DT 770 even without an amp so who cares I guess. I was actually leaning towards getting the 880 but I'm probably ganna get the HE400 instead
