the new beats are supposed to be a significant improvement. but still don't buy them unless you want to for fashion reasons.

there are a lot of variables... I take it by your choice, you are looking fro OVER EAR headphones?

then look to more reputable manufacturers:

Sennheiser
Klipsch
Beyerdynamic
Audeze

etc.

it also matter to some extent what type music you like.

Hi, I am looking for a good pair of headphone for under $100, That have to be comfortable and block outside noise. Good sound quality would be nice but is less important as they are just for poker. Any recommendations?

Thanks

hi im looking for top-notch headphones (large, over-ear): for at home use (so im fine with open). dont need a mic or anything. ive read reviews of some high-end headsets and it seems they dont have really serious bass often? I listen to lots of music (various rock stuff, jazz) but also lots of hiphop, so i do want quite a bit of bass.

I also plan to have these on my head for quite a lot of the day, so i'd prefer they are comfortable and my head doesnt get too hot...

seems ill also need a headset amplifier most likely...

id really appreciate suggestions/recommendations/reviews from personal experience thanks a lot!

I have the HD650s. Love em. I also have a high end amp.

after reading lots of reviews i think best value has to be the hd650s like u recommend. what kind of amp would u suggest

I think I am going get the Sennheiser momentum, I listen to lots of different types of music and will be wearing them for a long time while grinding, are these a good choice? Are they comfortable after a few hours?

I see some people mentioning amps, I no nothing about headphones, would I need one? If yes, any recommendations?

Thanks

Serious Head gear are serious. some of these you might want to add a Headphone tube Amp.

Have the Magni + Modi and they're solid for the price. Use my HD650's at home with this setup.

I have these headphones for the office since they're closed. They're 18 ohm so they aren't difficult to drive. I don't use a amp or dac with them and they sound great.

They are still comfortable but not as much as than the open cans I've worn: HD595, HD650 (more room) as they fit tight on your ears.

I can't disagree.
I also have some modded Grado SR325s that sound great but aren't nearly as comfy.

However the first few times I used the HD650s I was shocked at the clamping force on my head.
They loosened up nicely and are the most comfortable headphones I ever had.

I haven't kept up with this stuff in years. Head-fi.org is a wealth of info.
After the 650s I'll never need an upgrade unless I hit the Powerball.

Hey guys, i've wasted countless hours looking at reviews etc. I was dead set on getting the audiotechnicas ATH-50x then when my mom went to the store to get them the guy recommended the Shure 840's and then my mind went haywire haha. I saw them and I thought they were ugly as ****. But hands down they are better in the sound department according to all the reviews I read. So I need help.

I've been looking at the
Beyerdynamic D770 32 ohm, and Custom One Pro's
Audio Technica ATH-50x
Shure 840's

I went and listened to the different headphone audio here: http://www.sonicsense.com/blog/headp...e-for-yourself

I absolutely loved the D770's here and far but there was no sample of the Shure's
Anyone know where I can listen to them next to the D770's by any chance?

Also I would like any other recommendations!

-My budget is $230 max

-I want them to be somewhat portable, since I'll be using them mainly with my iphone and laptop

I like vocals more than anything, cuz i like listening to Electronic music with girls singing lets take for example a song everyone knows "better off alone"

-Bass I like punchy but not profound really

- I love them highs

This will really be my first big investment with over the ear headphones, I did have some in ear headphones though (klipsch s4's, and the shure 115 i think)

Thanks for any help guys!

I like these. The cord is pretty long though

Might find em cheaper on eBay

Hey guys,

I did some quick looking through this thread, and I didn't really find what I was looking for.
Maybe you guys can give some good advice. I want to get my dad some headphones for his birthday coming up.

He has a side business of landscaping -- there are mowers/weed eaters going on, he runs a heavy mower also, which is rather loud. He had some bose earbuds, but they are reaching their last leg. My budget is $100-300, I want to get him some over the ear with noise cancelling, but have decent sound, and can endure the heat and his sweat.

He listens to a lot of different things, and he's not an audiophile. So, as long as he can hear his music without raping his eardrum, he'll be happy. Thoughts?

I've had these Bose QC15s for like 4ish years now. Overall, still pretty awesome. But why is it that when I chew or swallow they like freak out? The first couple of years I had them it was just a mild click, but now it's like an extended symphony of clicking, to the point where it's better to toggle the ANC off/on to get rid of the clicking. Any thoughts? I probably won't be interested in spending any money since these really are still very great 99% of the time and I'm just using them at my office/desk. But just kinda curious.

ETA: I should mention I replaced the battery very recently, so it's not that. Also, this problem actually seems really bad now. Might consider spending lots of money.

He has an ipod touch and a galaxy s3 us device. I'm trying to shy away from bluetooth if possible, due to having to charge them.

that's good, gives you more options.
EU mobile devices (ipod included) are db-capped, almost all good headphones are not loud enough.
