Just caught my first SEC BASEBAWWW action ever. Big on allowing alcohol behind the outfield. Also, first crawfish in several years. Probably the single thing I miss most about living in Louisiana is the availability of cheap, delicious crawfish. Oh, and beer in gas stations.

You can't buy beer at gas stations where you live???

that would seem to be the implication

You get so much bang for your buck these days with PCs, I really fail to understand how MACs can be a rational purchase. By all means make a consciously irrational choice because of style or particular usability features you like. But give over claiming that they represent good value relative to the market.

I also wouldn't be surprised that most of the people that absolutely hate Macs have no idea how to configure them to get the most out of them. I prefer them overall, but certainly don't mind a good PC.

I am using the absolute bottom of the barrel Mac Mini, so it's probably my fault for living in the Mac ghetto

that kinda flies in the face of all of their marketing which is based on how easy they are to use and that they "just work".

its true that if you are doing real graphic/audio type work they are strong but the average person is just throwing away money

I mean they do up to a point, but there's also quite a bit you can do with them. I'm not denying there are millions upon millions of people who are seduced by the marketing or culture or whatever, but I've had a very very good experience with them overall.

for macs you have to configure them hardcore to even get them close to a PCs level of usefulness. I use both daily and mac's UI is so, so bad.

Macs are really annoying. iPhone's, however, are awesome.

I also love that this thing can literally go from being off to me browsing the internet in like 45 seconds. Every PC I've ever had was just so ****ing slow starting up. Don't know if it's gotten better in the last few years. I brought up in Skypezilla that it's highly possible PCs stepped their game up. You don't let a competing company go from death's doorstep to the biggest in the world without having some product issues.

I recently bought a refurbed Samsung 10.1 Galaxy off of woot for $299 specifically to insure against impulse buying an iPad at some point down the line. Even though I know iPads are massively overpriced there's still a good chance I couldn't help myself.

Great page but most people are so mouse dependent, although maybe less so in the laptop/tablet age. I once tried to educate an office on the value and benefit of keyboard shortcuts but they couldn't care less.

That's always been true for me, but my current PC goes from 0-to-firefox in less than that. I'm not sure of the exact amount of time because I've rebooted it around three times in over half a year.

Yeah I can't remember the last time I had to restart this thing either, sounds like PCs have gotten quite a bit better then.
