Reem wants to fight, Werdum wants to cuddle.

Reem going to win this 30-27 if he doesn't win by KO and stays out of Werdums pathetic ground attempts.

Werdum is boring the tits of me.

and the commentators are the worst ever.

Such an awful ending to an awful fight. Werdum finally gets a kneebar as the round runs out.

meh i dont understand your criticism

overeem is considered potentially the #1 striker and werdum is the #1 on the ground.

and even with that werdum probably nailed overeem 50 times

if Overeem is no1 striker he didn't show it tonight and he took plenty of shots too, i'm not over impressed, tho Werdum's tactics spoilt the fight.

not worth waiting up to 5am for.

What do you mean? Werdum's punches looked totally ineffective, and his tactic seemed to be lay on his back and hope Reem forget that he's great on the ground.

Incidentally, this is the reason I typically prefer boxing to MMA. In boxing, opposing styles tend to make for huge fights, in MMA, that situation seems to make boring fights as there is plenty of opportunity to avoid the opponent's strength.

Easily the most bizarre MMA fight I've ever witnessed.

if they fought again, i would have adviced werdum to just pressure and slug it out with Overeem standing, like he did at times with some success. I think his best bet to win this fight is to out-cardio overeem and pressure him into his weakling mode.

Exactly. This is why I think the speed and aggression of Cain and JDS make them favorites over Overeem.

Cain absolutely rapes The Reem.

wow, i really overestimated Reem by the looks of it. Barring some explanation like "I had the flu", he did not look like the #1 HW striker in the world in there last night. He won, but did not look impressive against a middling/poor striker in Werdum.

luckily for Undereem that Werdum is not that great of a striker or else he'd got KO'd.

this may sound casualfan, but it's hard to hit someone who falls when breathed on.

Werdum landed more shots standing than Overeem did. Overeem simply refused to hit Werdum for much of the fight. Werdum would come in, chin in the air, landing several weak loopy punches in a row, and Overeem would not counter. He would back straight up and duck into a Tito-turtle-shell. It was bizarre to watch.

Now, overeem obviously landed the harder shots, but for a good while Overeem simply would not engage in striking. In round one, werdum significantly outlanded Overeem, who only attempted 9 strikes. Basically, Werdum was open and ready to be KO'd (think JDS demolishing him) but Overeem simply wasn't countering his sloppy efforts at all.
