Every defense is going to load the box and make Leinart throw. Defense will be on the field a lot more. Will be interesting to see how they do.

Chris Greisen has looked pretty damn good in the UFL last season and this season. He very well should be someone on their radar to look at.

Jeremiah Masoli hasn't looked awful either.

Can someone mindlessly speculate on the chance Brett Lorenzo Favre will play American football for the Houston Texans? Is it non-zero?

Favre is a whore so obviously he'd be up for it if they called but I honestly can't see Kubiak wanting Brett Favre as his QB. One thing Kubiak is good at is offensive systems and I could see Favre coming in being like "Look here Gary I'm Brettfavre ya see gimme the ball and watch me work."

There's a higher likelihood Jake Plummer is our QB (Denver!). lol.

I'd love it if they at least brought Warner in for a look but I don't think he comes back to the NFL at this point. He really took some vicious shots in his last playoff game and he's been out for a while now and it's not like this would even be "his" team.

Kubiak is thought of as a good QB coach but he also said he could win with Carr (wrong) and he also made Grossman sound awesome (lol) and they threw a lot of money at Dan Orlovsky (lol) so even if Kubiak thinks Leinart is fine to take this team over I have reservations.

Jake Plummer is actually a pretty elite idea although I'm not sure how well a player who was merely alright could play after sitting out multiple seasons.

Leinart should be better than any off the street option.

There is a much greater precedent for a prepared backup coming in and winning games than there is for guys off the street.

Yeah, he didn't even look bad in preseason last year before getting cut from Cards. You guys will be fine to get in playoffs, but I gotta think a Super Bowl appearance is out of the equation now. That sucks cuz I thought you had as good a shot as anyone but the Pats in AFC. I've always rooted for the Texans so long as they didn't threaten the Colts.

AFAIK they only have Leinart and TJ Yates (rookie) now so they will have to acquire somebody for depth I guess. Might as well try to get somebody decent. Like, if Leinart goes down then... TJ Yates ain't gonna do **** in the playoffs.

Sounds like the trade deadline has passed but if not let's go through the list:

McNabb: Been there several times, vomited several times. Now seems old and awful and throws balls into the ground. Not sure he's an upgrade over Leinart at this point but wouldn't be bad for depth.

Hassel: Sounds fine but it's not like Titans are eliminated yet.

Tarvaris: LOL no.

Grossman: Kubiak apparently likes Grossman but he looked terrible in this system in the limited action he saw here. ANd you really don't want/need a turnover machine when you have an elite run game and good defense. You want a game manager before you want a Grossman.

Orton: Hadn't thought about him. Kubiak does masturbate furiously to all things Denver so this would have been a legit candidate. Orton played really well as recently as last year I think.

I hope that they've at least called Warner and reminded him he's got 2 full weeks to learn the playbook and really wouldn't even need to start against Jax for them to win. If he looks good in workout give him a blank check basically and go into the playoffs with Leinart as backup.
