Are people really unsure of whether or not the trade deadline has passed ITT?

If I remember right, it was a tight battle between DA and Leinart in the preseason. A lot of people, including Leinart, thought he outperformed DA. I think he was only cut because they thought he was gonna be a malcontent after losing out on the starter job, not because Hall had beat him out for the #2 job.

We can still trade a blank check with Mrs. Warner for the rights to Kurt.

I thought Leinart was cut b/c his contract was large and he obviously wasn't worth it.

Leinart got beat out by Anderson, but the decision to keep Hall over him was probably largely financial. Top 10 picked QBs on their (old system) rookie deals are too expensive to keep around as a backup.

Leinart is gonna have to get it done because there isn't a better option.

I know this but I need Von to be on the Texans before his career is over

Yea, pretty incredible how he's thriving as an OLB in the 4-3, really wasn't all that happy about him going to Denver but he's beasting nonetheless.

I'll feel much better about our playoff chances once TEN gets face raped by Atlanta this weekend.

Why seriously ? I'm supposed to be an extra on NFL trade policies

I assumed you could still make trades past the deadline I the player clears waivers

Anyway, to clarify it is impossible to trade for Orton?

Doubtful. For some reason TEN plays well against the NFC but can't beat the ****ing Jags.

Sorry dude, thought the trade deadline stuff for the NFL was sort of common knowledge because it's pretty simple.

There's no "clearing waivers" like you'd find in MLB. If you waive a player another team has the chance to claim him outright (they take over his contract) or if no team claims him, his contract is null and void and he's an immediate FA.

Yes, it is impossible. DEN could waive him, but other teams would have to pass on him first and even if HOU were to claim him (and win the claim), DEN get's nothing in return other than getting out of his contract.

Odds to win AFC South
Texans -550
Field +461

I didn't think Texans would be such a big favorite. I guess Titans have a tough schedule. Also helps that Titans Texans game is in Houston... and in Week17, when Leinart will have a lot of games under his belt.

Our schedule is cake from here on out and we've already blown out Tennessee by 34 points at their house. Johnson's coming back and the defense seems to be getting better each week and is now at an elite level. As is the run game. I mean Leinart would have to really **** **** for Houston to not make the playoffs. Not to mention if he's THAT bad in the next couple games you have to consider the probability of a Favre/Garrard/Warner/TJ Yates (?) lol righting the ship in time to squeek in. Which Vegas certainly hasn't failed to account for.

This really does suck though. After watching that Tampa game I actually began to think they were legit SB contenders and if y'all know anything about my Texans fandom it's that I'm not overly positive. But we've never had a defense remotely close to as good as this one and nor a 2-back system running so nicely. And Schaub wasn't being a world-beater but he wasn't turning the ball over either. 15/6 TD/INT ratio. There weren't any holes on the team except for Kubiak and he's seriously been better the last 4 weeks (hasn't really had to make any tough in-game decisions since the players on the field were mopping the floor). With Leinart in there and some closer games I would expect him to revert back to ******omode.

Super Bowl contender was not much of a stretch imo considering how weak the AFC is this year and that it was looking like they'd have a first round bye and possible HFA until the big game. That stuff is likely gone now but winning the division isn't.

**** would be on ice if Schaub was healthy

still think a 2 (3 game really) lead is gonna be tough to **** up w/ our schedule

Locker looked good in what started as mop-up duty, but dude turned that into a game

With Hasselbeck hurt, the entire division is now on plan B (or worse) QBs.
