Match quality has been basically the exact same, but I find this method far more tedious and less fun. I still think swiping right 100% (preferably logging onto Tinder.com and just clicking a mouse for 5 minutes while watching Youtube) and then deciding who to message with once you see the matches is by far the way to go.
I haven't seen you, but guessing by your matches, I think it's safe to assume you're an outlier that will skew well in ELO regardless of doing everything to sabotage it.

Tinder has absolutely no incentive to get people to be more selective and thus have people match less. I don't think they'd disclose that if it weren't genuine.

Tinder possibly has a huge incentive to get people to match less. The whole industry is based on mild variation and tests on which portion of the matching process being the frustration point is optimal, or at least segmenting population by chosen frustration point.

Some people want very infrequent matches that convert to date incredibly high percentage (matchmaking service)

Some people want lots of matches that convert to a lot of conversations that convert at a low rate to dates (idk, tinder?)

But if your consumer gets pissed off because "this doesn't work" you have to change the product. I assume from various information that tinder received feedback that their mix of text conversations started to dates agreed to or shown up to was too low, so they decided to make fewer, better matches.

Yeah, I considered some dark motives from the match group to make people more incentivized to try getting a match from buying premium but from you hear the old cliche of "I bought premium and it didn't make a difference" often enough to believe that isn't really their end goal to make matching needlessly hard if you don't pay. People who do well if they paid are likely going to do well anyway and so on.

I agree it's gotta be the messaging aspect where they want people focused on matching with others they'll be incentivized to chat with. Which I agree was the most frustrating part of it all. I'd get a bunch of matches but most would never respond and I too would never respond to a bunch of others. In fact, I probably unmatched a good half of the women I matched with because I wouldn't really give them much scrutiny.

I never used bumble, but hearing about the matches expiring if you don't contact them sounds both horrible and a brilliant solution at the same time.

The woman I'm currently with, have been living together over 2 years now, we met on tinder. It was ideal. Within a few messages we'd agreed to meet for a drink the following night. Showed up to find she was very unphotogenic and was enormously surprised. I don't think I could stop talking about how this was literally the first time the woman wasn't significantly uglier than in the profile and not just that, but significantly more attractive than I'd imagined. Remember kids, this is why I should always be silent in front of woman. Fortunately, she put up with me. Not many option for a 5'9" woman in Asia. At 6'2" I'm the shortest guy she's ever dated, something she was sure to remind me of whenever I'd poke fun at her for something

Someone on another forum posted this vid of a short guy going crazy about women not caring about him on dating sites. He totally lost it in the end, but it almost made me feel bad for him, must be brutal being a short guy and doing online dating.

Being short is a life long detriment. It's a psychological seed that is nurtured by everyone around you. Pecking order and such. There was some interesting discussion in BFI about the expectancy differences between short and tall men and success.

It wasn't a huge detriment online until I was out of shape and slobby at my late 20s peak depression.

As a tall man who had a late growth spurt, I'm very sympathetic to the plight of a short man. Bottom line is people do treat you differently and then you act differently in reaction to that. You'll never get a guy who's 6' having a blowup like that because some women snickered at his cargo shorts in the bagel shop

As a white guy who had to convert status from US to China to keep playing online after black Friday, I couldn't possibly believe how much casual racism was thrown my way once people thought I was Asian - it was pretty shocking. Several times a day would get called all kinds of nasty things in the chat. When I was playing as an American, they just called me a donkey or an idiot and never took it any further, maybe they tossed in the occasional random political vent but that was it.

I can't say I know what it's like to be a short man or a minority in Europe or North America but I sure know a lot better than most people like me and man am I glad I'm neither.

I don't think anyone comes out of that video well. guy clearly has issues, but then he is basically handicapped so physically assaulting him isn't great, then the woman laughing at him when he's leaving just validates everything he said.

Because he's lashing out at things that really happened to him, but people don't give a ****. He deserves to be frustrated because he's a useless manlett. I guarantee some form of that sentence was tweeted out or posted as a comment referring to the video.

"You're not wrong, you're just an *******"

Just as no one who isn't black doesn't really know what it is like to be black, no one who is attractive really knows what it is like to be unattractive.

Of course, neither is an excuse for violence and hatred.

I'm heading to the beach for the weekend, Ocean City, MD to be exact. I've been all over and this is hands down the easiest place in the world to hook up with a 8+. I lived here for 4 years between age 22-27 It's a pure Honeypot. Lots of Irish, Russian, and Eastern bloc European students in addition to the MD/DE/PA'ers and divorcees who got the beach house in the settlement and were smoking hot in the 90s for those who like the milf types.

East coasters should definitely check it out. It's a ghost town after labor day though.

With online dating, rejection is a certainty. We just experience it in different degrees and in different stages - whether it's not getting enough matches or eventually ceasing contact after the first date. It can hurt an already fragile self-esteem, but for some it helps grow a thicker skin - myself included. You learn not to take rejections personally. You don't like me? That's fine, on to the next!

We were all cum at one point so with the sheer volume of people that chill in the Bayside of Seacrets, I get your point.
