How would being unaware of something indicate a willingness to accept it?

Not knowing prevents you from having to do something you'd prefer not to. No going back on that one imo.
07-29-2018 , 12:05 AM
It isn't about not knowing, its about not wanting to know.
07-29-2018 , 12:07 AM
I spoke to that. Intentional ignorance is something different, I'd already know.

I've ended relationships before the cheating occurred. But I sure saw it in their subsequent relationships.

This conversation is actually reminding me of things I've read about atheism.

Some people say that if Christianity/Judiasm/Islam, etc. is all completely made up and wrong, they wouldn't want to know anyway. They would rather live a life of fantasy because it makes them feel better.

But those who believe in atheism often believe they value their lives and experiences even more than the theists.

Now, its all a lot of self-reported garbage among some of the most tilting types of personalities and belief systems there are, but it is interesting, imo.

On the topic though, as hard as it is to imagine, I think the ability to forgive others is absolutely paramount.

While I would never want to be in the situation, I do believe there are situations where I could forgive a significant other of cheating on me, but more so I believe that there are situations where I SHOULD be able to forgive them.

Put the weed down LDL

Completely sober in fact!

That America is great thread has some interesting posting going on in it.

On one hand, you get very good posters giving serious replies and having decent discussion. On the other hand you are getting some seriously bottom barrel trolls/flame wars and just horrible posting. But both groups are influencing the direction of the thread so any moderation action would be a net negative imo.

I could forgive. The relationship is just doomed, as a man*.

*This probably touches on some misogynistic views (I guess) but it's not like there aren't some fundamental differences between the sexes.

You are the creepy old dude offering alcohol to underage kids after paying them to enter your bedroom and then blaming them for not accepting a Roofiesweiser?

Why don’t you have a seat right over there next to Natamus.
07-29-2018 , 02:46 AM
They probably thought you were going to roofy them.

Edit: Damn chop for getting in first. Bah.
07-29-2018 , 03:03 AM
It seems ridiculous to me that movers would be paranoid about that unless there's a serious creep vibe from the guy. That being said, the idea that one beer will just really brighten someone's day like the ****ing Shawshank inmates tarring the roof is a classic old timer bit that's pretty lol. If I was in their shoes I would much prefer a lemonade or a Fiji water, something I can take on the road.

A beer tastes damn good after physical work on a hot day. Nothing wrong with offering one and there’s nothing creepy about it. Pretty hot take there, Chop.

Agreed but I bolded the key word. Personally if I'm still working, screw a beer. Especially just standing around in a stranger's house. Still a nice gesture to offer anything, of course.

Fiji water. You get crystal geyser mother****er.
07-29-2018 , 03:20 AM
I know - wtf millennials
07-29-2018 , 03:22 AM
I also offered delicious, possibly-roofied lemonade. I didn't know if roofies had gluten in them though so I couldn't, in good conscience, say they were gluten free.
07-29-2018 , 03:30 AM
Not offering gluten free is way worse than the roofies, you're probably on a millennial movers blacklist now grando!

One time when I was pretty damn close to 20 a buddy and I were walking down the street when an older (not creepy off the bat) guy asked us to help him move a queen size mattress and box spring up into an apartment. We are nice guys so we did. Him and his friend offered us a beer which we refused which they rudely laughed at. Then they offered weed and laughed. Then crack. It was getting creepier and less light hearted. We scurried off pretty fast taking being the butt of the joke as our thanks for a good deed.

Now I’d take the crack for sure.

If only they had wives to tell.

This is what OOT loves though. What to offer/tip the movers and similar questions of decorum. Sounds like Grando dealt with some cultist types and now we’re left with a false data point.

Johnny,

That story was setup well but I really wanted a more eventful finish. Definitely take the crack next time!

Is the possibility that they had plenty of stuff to drink in the truck and weren't that thirsty on the table?
