No new announcements so far. The rmor sites are reporting a new iTouch is due in Sept 09. It should have the new hardware. 3.0 works on the iTouch (I have it installed on mine already)

If we pre-order the 3GS from the website, will it be delivered on the 19th (in my hands), or does it ship the online orders on the 19th and we get it the following sat/mon/tue?

Unfortunately, I am going to be out of town, and if it's going to arrive on the 19th, I'd like to send it to where I'll be staying.

I don't get this shipping of the 3GS. Did they do that for anyone with the 3G or the OG?

Peggle is a game that gets great reviews, currently on sale for $1 (down from $5)

iBlimp looks amazing, gets some awesome reviews, with some people saying it's buggy. also on sale for $1

Taxiball looks fine, on sale for $1

how funny that gaming was always the drawback of Apple PC's, and now the iphone is the greatest thing ever to happen to mobile gaming (at least in the casual space, people like me who love buying games for a buck or 2 and only play them once a week or one planes, etc). I don't play enough to justify buying a DS and expensive games, plus it's hassle having 1 more device to carry around...but Iphone gaming is perfect for me

great value at that price

Ugh, I paid 5 for Peggle, so annoying.

Thanks for pointing out those sales. I wasted another 5 dollars in the App Store. It's bleeding me dry 1-3 dollars at a time.

It's so hard to to down anything with a ton of great reviews for under 2 dollars. If it sounds even remotely fun or useful.

no.

Why are they doing this for the 3GS then? I hope they do it for the 4G.

I agree with this 100%. I could never justify the money for a DS or PSP, and the $40 games on top of that. I kill so much time with my $2 games and I always have my phone with me.

They realized that many people don't like standing in line for 4 hours to get a new phone, and would prefer to get it the same day as everyone else from the comfort of their home/office.

This will probably be even more common going forward. It's already done with movies, music, software, etc, so why not in-demand hardware as well?

TY for the clarification, and making my day!

Peggle is so addicting! Stayed way up late playing it on my DS last night. I'll be getting it whenever I pick up a 3GS.
06-11-2009 , 02:57 PM
Anyone get Star Defense yet?

Is this game as addicting as Flight Control. Hell, I didn't have anything to do yesterday and played it for 5 hours.

Yes, Peggle is the best.

iTunes question, does anyone know If I hook up my 1TB Western Digital External HD and put all my music on there can I put music from there on iTunes for my iPhone?

Yes. That's what I do right now.

Sweet, thanks.

I'm currently addicted to Toobz. It's kind of like tetris with pipes (tubes) full of water. There's a free version with five levels to try. Great fun, the full version is $1.

restored by phone last night in preparation for 3.0

MiM still seems to be working and the AT&T carrier tag is still replaced by my custom entry.

Also, because I'm lame and early on, had syncing issues because I always forget which computer I used for it...none of my apps sync'd.

Pooof.

No biggy though, easy enough to reinstall what i actually used. Good cleanup effort.

Once 3.0 is installed, what's the deal with not being able to re-download apps\purchases unless from a computer?

Currently my wife and I each have an iphone, sync with individual PCs but share one itunes account. If I download an app on my iPhone, then on hers, it will prompt me with something to the effect of "You have already purchased this, would you like to download again for free?"

Will I still be able to install purchases on both of our iPhones (one iTunes account \ two PCs) without paying twice?

Probably not. I believe that's the point of the change.
