It seems that the file that is auto downloaded to your phone got edited by the author, and that is the reason tethering isn't working.

Apparently if you email the original file to your iphone as an attachment named "us_att.mobileconfig" and open it, the profile will install automatically. If you power cycle your phone, you should now have the tethering option.

The original file contents are:

Code:

Same thing happened on mine, but syncing multiple times (with "sync all applications" checked) seems to do the trick.

just downloaded, took 15 minutes or so, and right at the end, it tells me that the server is busy..

spotlight is pretty awesome. copy&paste, meh. i'll probably use it a couple of times a month. landscape texts, i can do fine with portrait.

trying out the tether option now. really missing five icon dock and five column spring board. i hope hackulous will still work as well.

To Our Valued Apple Customer:

On June 17, AT&T announced a change to their upgrade eligibility policy
and ‘best upgrade pricing’ for qualifying iPhone 3G owners.

Based on AT&T’s updated qualification criteria, we are pleased to inform
you that you are eligible to receive a refund on your recent
iPhone 3G S purchase.

Your Order Acknowledgment and Shipment Notification emails will reflect
the original purchase price. However, Apple will issue you a refund in
the amount of $200.00, which is the difference between your original
purchase price and the new qualifying price.

Apple will process your refund in the next 5 days, and will send you an
email when this has been completed. We will process your refund based
on your original payment method. See below for details.

Rumor has the 3.0 Jailbreak coming out tonight. No guarantee on the 5 icon dock and springboard though, since they are substrate extensions I think they need major changes for a new firmware.

Summerboard didn't even get ported to 2.0, Winterboard was made anew instead.

Upgrade had to be due September of this year or before.

?

Is upgrade available after 1 year? I'm definitely not eligible yet. My contract is new from about 2 weeks after 3g launch last year.

When I checked ATT.com earlier it said march (~20 months into contract).

I'm certainly not complaining =)
