What matters is whether or not you find your relationship with him (as it currently is, since there's no evidence he's going to change) acceptable. If the answer is no (which I think it should be), then move on with your life, get yourself in better physical and mental shape, and maybe find someone new. Don't worry about whether code3 blames you for the relationship or whether some random people on the internet think you're right. It's totally irrelevant.

Set an example for your daughter - If you're in a relationship where the other person doesn't respect you, leave.

I did try to negotiate the salary up to 75k, and the woman told me that was way too much for them. I asked to have a week to think about it in hopes that the job I really want would make an offer, and she told me I could only have a couple of days. This woman seemed shocked that I countered and didn't snap accept the offer.

The difference in pay is less than two months of further unemployment this year. If you can sort out your written language skills and demonstrate your vibration divining skills to your new employer surely this is room for growth.

Not to mention that this is giving you a reason to move out of your toxic environment, which you desperately need right now. I say this because you have demonstrated an unwillingness to do it on your own behalf without external stimulus.

Just curious - you do realize that you are lucky enough to have the tools (education/skills) to live a very comfortable middle class life for you and your daughter, right? Nice home, plenty of tasty food, take vacations and do fun things...

I think a lot of us are genuinely surprised that, despite having these tools, you seem to make typical white trash choices that leave you mired in a tumultuous and emotionally volatile environment that models a lot of really bad things for your child.

I just accepted the offer, and they told me there is only one week vacation for the first two years...yay. Start date would be Sapt1. I'm still holding out hope that the job I really want will make an offer this week. I want to like my job. I would have to move this weekend to get my daughter in school for next week.

What you do now MLYLT is email the other company and let them know you have an offer to start Sept 1, and give them a chance to counter.

Would this other job you're still holding out hope for involve you staying in the general area where Code3 is?

The amount of vacation should be something you discuss before accepting an offer. One week seems pretty hard to combine with a kid as a single parent.

I called my contact at the other company, and told them I had an offer and need a response from them by the end of the week.

One week of vacation is absurd, but myself and my fiancee both ended up getting paid out for several weeks vacation recently that we didn't use.

Right now you have other things to focus on, you can worry about vacation in a few years.

Holy **** this is awful. Get the f*** out of there right now, never talk to code3 again, and get your daughter in therapy right the f*** now. I'm serious. She is going to end up exactly like you in her relationships unless you take this seriously.

Also, re: her father - have you talked to him about this move and what your hopes/expectations are of him? Is he on board? The worst thing you can do is build him up in your mind (and your daughter's) and then if he fails to meet your expectations you've damaged your daughter and her relationship with him.

So much this. The disparity between male and female employees negotiating this kind of stuff is shocking. It is also one of the main contributing factors in the whole salary divide too. imo
