These companies were running sophisticated fraud schemes against the US. They laundered BILLIONS of dollars and committed what I would assume are thousands of cases of wire and bank fraud. Debate the merits of these charges, or jurisdiction or facts... but please don't turn this into a Glen Beck televangelist BS about the unfairness of the government. U think anyone cares about ur dumb online poker freedoms and if you have them or not? No they want their slice of the cake, just or not.
No ******, the US government was stealing money from FTP/STARS, so they had to come up with fraudulent schemes to avoid DOJ crackdowns on payment processors.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Cashed out over a grand from Full Tilt 3-4 weeks ago that has yet to be seen.

Have at least $1,500 in deposits that still haven't been cleared from my bank account. What should I expect?

This is actually a great setup and I'm sure it was all calculated from the beginning.
DOJ steals money from FTP/PS, knowing they'll have to do sketchy things in order to avoid losing too much money and then indicts them on fraud charges.
Brilliant...
Im not sure how bribing banks because its your only option is somehow a point in their favor.

It very well may be unfair, their only option ect ect ect ect. but it doesnt change the very obvious fact that htis was outright bank and wire fraud and that is why they are being shut down. The bs here about the governement, obama, freedoms... ect. is just babble.

uhh so i can't even logon FTP anymore, it tries to update then goes "download failed". so the money in my account is gone now?!

losing the players from the USA makes for smaller fields, smaller guarantees which in turn makes less players and less money since over 50% of money players are from here, its a sad day all the way around for everyone around the world

This indictment is all based on this clowns allegations. Getting himself off and throwing others under the bus to do it. Who knows if his unformation even holds any truth. Other then bargaining his freedom. Ftp seems to think by there release that the charges are bogus
So did Barry Bonds... did you read the indictment? And have you ever seen ANYONE under serious charges NOT come out proclaiming innocence and that they would see their way through to absolute victory?

Nah, lets just come out and go "Screw it, we're guilty... throw on the cuffs and lock me up next to Bubba."

Grow a brain.

I feel dumb for getting up in arms about them, but this is just horribly flawed logic. READ THE INDICTMENT.

Im all for the governments being corrupt / power grabbers but I reserve my own judgment. I see no application of anything besides trying to enforce laws from people literally raping their land.

I am almost PRO fraud if thats possible, but at the same time im not so twisted in my love for online poker / pyramid fraud schemes and hatred for authority and government that I draw such amazingly stupid conclusions as i see every page of this thread.
"Carpal/Tunnel" means recognizing trolls. Good day, sir.

I think PartyPoker would be well-placed for re-entry. Heck, I'm thinking about putting some money into their public umbrella company, Partygaming (ticker symbol: PYGMF). It's a low-volume pink sheet, but there was a 10% jump with a volume surge during the last trading hour.

I guess it is cool to call me names and such but really I would hope that we could have an actual discussion about this stuff. I have no problem with anyone not agreeing with me but it is more helpful to me and everyone reading if you point to specific facts and laws to support your criticism.
Dude give it a rest. If you are an "attorney" you wasted your money at your local community "law school". Anyone with an ounce of legal experience can instantly spot your BS.

I hate even calling you out. It's a waste of space in this thread. My apologies 2p2 world. Let's get some more legit information together as it presents itself.

is it safer to leave 3K in there or panic cashout....

Thoughts:

1. I'd leave my money on FTP/Stars for now, rather than sending into the netherworld of "75 frozen accounts in 14 countries" by requesting a withdrawal at about the worst time EVER to do so. I have a decent chunk tied up there so I'm not thrilled about this either, but I truly can't imagine the DOJ justifying a $10B+ seizure of players funds. I know it sucks, but we're just going to have to wait it out.

2. LOL to anyone blaming Obama/current government. This is a DOJ investigation and it's been going on for a year. Besides, the UIGEA was passed under a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENCY, SENATE, AND HOUSE.

3. BEAT/BRAG: Paid taxes today even before I knew this was going on. Would have gotten a $1.2k refund if I hadn't declared my poker winnings. But of course I did did, and got to wire a smooth $1k to the state and feds.

Moral: Not all poker players are law-dodging scumbags.
