Hello ssssssssssssssss,

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your concern.

PokerStars is owned and operated by a legal entity licensed and located in the Isle Of Man (a crown dependency of the United Kingdom) and we pride ourselves in abiding by all relevant laws and regulations. The current situation about which you have inquired only impacts US Players.

PokerStars will continue to offer its services to all other jurisdictions. As we are not a law firm, it is difficult for us to advise our customers as to the legal situation in every jurisdiction, however the recent change is not targeted in any way at your jurisdiction.

Most importantly, rest assured your funds are safe with PokerStars and will be accessible to you whenever you may wish to withdraw.

We will keep all of our players up-to-date with any future developments.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and concern, and thank you for choosing PokerStars.

Regards,

Anyone have any advice about whether check cashouts or bank wires are a better idea right now? Like a moron I don't have the wire info so I have to wait till tomorrow morning to get it from the bank.

I'm really worried about check cashouts since I could end up with a check that bounces if the accounts are seized or a check that's useless if the govt. cracks down on banks accepting payments from any Stars processors.

I figure at least with a bank wire it will either work or it won't, but I won't potentially left in that limbo.

Any thoughts?

I quite like the way people in Iran can log on to pokerstars now and play but Americans can't. The Land Of The Free They Say?

So what's the over/under on the WSOP main event without the online qualifiers?

Im in Canada and I can't use moneybookers or wire. My only option is check, should I withdrawl my whole roll (20k) by check?
I live in Canada as well and have always gotten checks which works great and only usually takes 2 to 3 business days if over 1k, and I decided to withdraw about 30% of my bankroll just a little while ago. I got the standard email I always get.

I'm pretty sure the processor it comes from is in Canada, so doubt that one has been shutdown/seized.

sick irony that i can play on stars in iraq or afghanistan but i can't play from the good old USA.

can some one explain to me all the commotion with the withdrawing issue? i cant seem to follow it. If your not in the US you wont have any problems and if you are in the US you shouldnt be withdrawing as you are doing so using illegal payment processors and the government is obviously watching now so the last thing any US players should be doing is withdrawing, no?

Epic thread.

If I was a pro player in the US, would be buying tickets to a foreign country in a hurry.

That's what I'd of expected

Stars must be Absolutely Huge .. imagine how much they've stashed away during the last 5 years

They could carry on regardless without U.S players (no offence to anyone)
Though the whole situation is a constant laughing stock
I mean Poker banned in the U.S ..... WTF .. WHY ... WHAT ... WHEN ... !!

How can we even pretend to be a free country anymore, let alone the most free? We're now the ONLY country that isn't free to play.
