This will probably have a positive effect on the country as a whole. Poker players are usually just terrible people who don't pay taxes. Now they'll be forced to interact and socialize with normal people, not the dredges of degenerates populating online poker sites.

I just logged into Full Tilt.

I registered for the daily dollar to test if I could still register for a real money tournament and it registered me like any other day. I also sat at a real money table with no problems.

I live in Alabama. Now...if this is true tomorrow, we shall see.

This is on the front page of the NY Daily News website"

Bad gamble? 3 major online poker sites accused of stealing BILLIONS from players

Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/index.html#ixzz1JczxuuqH

They are reporting it as the sites stole from the players. Way to go NY daily news.

I mean, as much as this currently sucks, couldn't this be a blessing in disguise in regard to the long-term health of the game?

Let's face it -- online poker in 2011 isn't all that fun anymore. From the games getting harder all the way down to the fact that it is so much tougher to deposit/withdraw.

If fully regulated U.S.-based sites eventually come from this, I will be very happy. I think you will see a huge influx of bad players, which will make the games more fun and easier to beat. Plus, nobody is going to have to worry anymore about getting in trouble for loading money on to a site, their bank accounts getting closed because they cashed out, etc.

People probably thought Party Poker leaving the U.S. market was the end for Americans, but sites like Full Tilt and PokerStars emerged. If those said sites leave as well, my guess down the line is there will be other places to play.

The wire transfer I made recently on PS got approved on 4/13....still hasn't bounced back yet.

I feel terrible for online pros.

Can't play on Stars but was able to get into Full Tilt. Taking shot with my last $500 now since I probably can't ever get to it.

So annoying hearing everyone say "I cashed out and it says approved." First off, it is approved to be processed through a bank that will be in Federal receivership for facilitating a multibillion dollar fraud, so until you get your money this is not helpful. These sites havent said anything period, so expecting to either see a pop-up that says, "no we are indicted" or "approved" is unrealistic.

A lot of people have a lot at stake, much more than 100 dollar cashouts that after your post is no closer to your pocket. Anyone vote for leaving threads for information and not, "I can login from Argentina," or "i got an approved email."

Also this in general if it hasn't been said:

The charges contained in the Indictment and Civil
Complaint are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty.
