Haven't read the thread fully, 300 pages..

Could not connect to ftp client, uninstalled and reinstalled from ftp.uk. Can't play real money, only play chips. I can't view my funds thru the cashier, only the play chips tables are available..

Sorry if this is posted before.

Why?

The segregated accounts are not assets of the firm. They cannot be used to pay the debts of the firm.

The only questions are who will administer the trust should the trustee cease operating, and what additional costs will be incurred to disburse the trust.

PokerStars Shuts Down – No More USA Players
April 16, 2011
If you are a USA player who had a PokerStars account, don’t worry. You will still be able to play online poker for real money. USPokerSites.com shows all the sites still accepting USA Players. Here you can also find deposit bonus information and reviews on all the sites that take USA players, as well as information on USA player deposit options.

I could not believe it either. I'm running client 4.434 that has not been updated. I have over 5 computers with PS installed with various versions. I logged in to just play with play chips and it let me join a 1c2c table? I got excited then scared and backed out and posted here.

how hard should it be to prove that a game that allows the player to put odds in his/her favor requires more skill than luck. It takes just as much skill to profit off poker as it does to trade options.

... Hypothetically speaking, if I can log on to FT, play real money games, and the withdrawal options are available to me, should I attempt to withdraw to a U.S bank acct or leave my money where it is?

this isn't about poker being legal / illegal ..

is about how Stars / Ftp / UB(AB) have done illegal things regarding banking

The withdrawal option is not available for any US players. But....hypothetically speaking, I would not risk cashing out right now because a lot of the payment processors are not working.

Are VIP store purchases on Stars affected for US players?

I have no idea whether casinos maintain accounts for high rollers. If they did, a deposit in such an account would be the proper analogy to deposting at FT. The proper analogy to buying chips at Bellagio is to sit or reload at a poker table at FT.

The jurisdictions in which PS and FT are licensed require that player deposits be segregated. There is no requirement of which I am aware in Vegas that proceeds from chip purchses be segregated.
Money can be segregated in a seperate account but if it's still in the name of the site it's open game for creditors.
