^ If youre 50/50 on a $100 pot with 2$ rake, you have more equity than if you have 50/50 in a $100 pot with $4 rake, no?

I think he's just being a technical nit in saying that your equity is your % chance of winning the pot, which is not affected by the rake. Whereas, your EV is what is effected.

The blog could be interpreted that they will play before the WSOPE, then take a break for 3 weeks for the WSOPE and play again once its finished. Though the blog could suggest that they won't play now for the next 3 weeks.

Thoughts?
wsop europe starts september 14 so i doubt they are going 2 weeks early, maybe in a week

I guess so, and that makes him look pretty stupid.

More rake = the players have less equity. Equity does not mean "your % chance of winning the pot".

that's exactly what it means.

you're trying to say equity and EV mean the same thing. they do not.

equity = win%
EV = equity * potsize

equity and expected value are synonymous. equity is the amount of the pot that is "owed" to you. in poker, ev is your expected monetary return over a sample size. they just state the same things differently when referring to poker.

so if you are a 75% favorite to win a pot of $100, your equity is $75 and your expected return over any sample size will always be $75.

equity = ev
% win = pot-irrespective equity

colloquially both equity and ev seem to express some share (expectation) of the pot

...??????joking, just trying to throw out a dumb question like everyone else.

This current argument is pretty dumb and not funny, just end it already.

Yeah today I was playing a hand, allin pre, I was a 55% to 43% favourite to win - the house rake had 2% equity, they scooped the pot, FML

Why is everyone saying isildur1 is the best at hu nl? He got completely picked apart by team card runners and busted his roll in like 1 session. If he was so good then why didn't he readjust?

nice level, not only the "aww i am a tard and dont know it was PLO..." to the "he lost his roll in 1 session, they mustve figured him out!!!1!!11", as stated before and shown in so many other occasions a 42 bi downswing(well he started buying in deep after a while) 6tabling another super aggro in PLO ain't that big of a deal(well big deal lifewise obv... not superuncommon pokerwise).

I CANT RESTRAIN MYSELF TO TYPE THIS **** WHEN I KNOW ITS A LEVEL, BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS A SLIGHT CHANCE IT ISNT, FML.
