I don't think Card Player LA has any affiliation. Unless I'm mistaken, it's a separate entity with licensing like Bluff Europe.

I have to assume they are affiliated. If you know definitively let me know and I will take it down. It just seems real unlikely.

Isn't Cardplayer that free magazine that they give away at casinos that we all take home to read on the crapper? I feel like this is where LOCK belongs. FREE TP JIC

I can't say definitively, but you're wrong that it's highly unlikely. It's not uncommon for magazines to license the name to an independent owner in another region.

Thanks for providing this list sir should make contacting these businesses very easy. I figure even if we can get even a quarter of these companies to pressure CP into dumping Lock that should do it. CP could not possibly risk losing that much revenue just to have Lock in there magazine. I personally am going to start at the top of the list and start contacting them right away. Thanks again!

If cardplayer are licensing the name to another operator I am sure they are not doing it for free. So cardplayerLA is as much (if not more so)a revenue stream and advertiser of cardplayer.com and should be made aware of the lock situation. CardplayerLA has actually made it clear they do not advertise lock "never have and never will" was the exact quote I located. They do business with cardplayer.com just like all the other businesses listed above so they should be made aware of players feelings toward cardplayer.com just like every other business mentioned ITT.

Probably a coincidence, but I played Mohegan Sun, CT last night, and currently at Foxwoods tonight. Noticed neither card room has a single Card Player Mag on the shelves. (not one)

Asked some floor staff, no one knows what's up.

Perhaps they are just in-between shipments but odd not to even see a few prior months editions lying around.

Just would continue to encourage everyone to keep contacting the companies advertising in Card Player and letting making them aware of the Lock/Card Player situation and that the poker community can use their support. Even if you only have time to reach out to one business per day it is better than doing nothing. Thanks for your efforts everyone!

Next time I go into a poker room that I see cardplayer magazine in I'm going to search for the Lock Poker ad and rip the page out of all the magazines I can. I hope the casino won't take offense to that.

That wouldn't be a wise idea, It would be better to let the Casino know why you have an issue with CP and who they are allowing to advertised in their website/magazine.
You shouldn't risk getting banned and even arrested for something that will have little effect.

For your room to get a card player publication you must advertise with them. You have to at minimum run a 3 month add of your tournaments to get the mags. PP newspaper is the same

Hi guys.
I'm Brian Saslavchik, General Coordinator for CardPlayer Latin America (CardPlayerLA).
I've been following this thread and the time has come to set things straight.
We are not affiliated to CardPlayer Media (the company the Shulman's own) other than paying them a licensing fee, as many other people do with CardPlayer magazines all over the world. We are a different company located in Argentina and we publish magazines in Argentina, Chile, Perú, Colombia and México.

As it was mentioned in this thread we don't advertise Lock, never have and never will except things change radically (as in PokerStars buys them or something like that which won't happen anyways).

I would appreciate if the people who have posted stuff about us either delete or modify their posts as we have nothing to do with this.

I'll answer questions about CardPlayerLA if you have any.

Cheers!

Please use your pull as a business partner with CP Media and urge them to stop promoting Lock Poker. I would assume, being someone who pays CP a decent sum of money, you have a good contact who will listen to you. Please help us out!

Thanks for clearing that up Brian. Since you seem to be well aware of the current situation with Lock, is there anyway you could help the poker community out? As long as there are companies like Lock operating and companies like CP advertising them, poker will always be looked down upon by society. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated!

I cant really decide what other companies do, only the one I work for.
I could direct people from CP Media towards this thread but I'd be shocked if they haven't read it yet.

Thats nuts that the Poker Rooms would enter into an agreement like that. I would think much if not most of the distribution of these magz is from being on the shelves in the Poker Rooms.

You would think CP would be paying THE POKER ROOM not the other way around ??

Brian,

Thank you for posting. We appreciate you letting us know CardplayerLA is not a subsidiary of Cardplayer. That being said you do pay them a licensing fee because you felt the Cardplayer brand had enough name recognition and a strong enough reputation for you to pay to be the Latin American brand of Cardplayer. Since you are paying for the benefits of being associated with the Cardplayer brand doesn't it bother you that Mr. Shulman is dramatically cheapening the value of the Cardplayer brand in the poker community? Obviously Mr. Shulman has decided that the ad revenue from Lock more then offsets the negative impact on Cardplayers reputation. You however receive no benefit from these unethical decisions by Mr. Shulman, but you are directly affected by the Cardplayer brand being diminished.

You mention you are following this thread. Since you posted ITT I assume you will continue to do so. I hope you will answer my question although I understand why you may not, you are in a tough position because of Cardplayers decisions in respect to Lock. Best of luck to you in the future.
