Preach it, brother, though tbh I didn't really get into it seriously until ~3rd Edition, Red Book. And librarian of the Go club.

Funny aside, you might remember this given your demographic...

Was in a parking lot heading back from Ohio for the holidays, about to get into my car when I look into the back of this guy's Subaru parked next to me and there's this MASSIVE Ogre box. It looks like some kind of folded-up movie promo popup, huge.

I'm just gawking at it when the owner approaches the car looking at me like "why are you looking in my car."

"Is this your car?"
"Yeah."
"Dude, what the HELL is that??"

The guy smiles from ear to ear and tells me about how Steve Jackson re-released Ogre (via Kickstarter of all things) with massive, oversized pieces. Never seen a person so happy to randomly meet someone else who didn't think he was a weirdo.

Aaaaanyway, not here to stay, just peeking in for the lulz and gotta say, the riggies do not disappoint.

Is everyone getting their checks? I hope so. I'm getting mine.

I'm afraid I never heard of Ogre - but I'll check it out!

And now, back to the conspiracy!

A rig is not going to be detectable in the ways the riggies are told to look for it by the shills! In fact the riggies do not even know what they are looking for other than a hunch that something is not right.

I play thousands of SnG a year and make a profit but am unsure if I exploit a rig or play to avoid one happening to me, then again maybe I just got lucky since 2008.

Anyway if a rig is in place I beleive it goes like this ... Double Up SnG's only!

Reason - It is in the interest of a poker site to finish the SnG so that the players can buy into another one and the site can generate some more rake.

- The rig exists in exit hands only - ie All In hands.

- The rig is not in place to help any particular player, it is only to finish the SnG and so is evident with one player left to exit before the prizes.

- The short stack loses

To check if the rig is present:

- Only review hands where

you exit yourself as shortstack
or if you called a short stack and exited them
and
it is the last exit before the prizes

You are looking for:

- anomolies in the winning hand distribution - ie the hand strengths that wins the pot and their frequency (are they against the expected norm)

- anomolies within the pre flop hand win %ages / distribution

I have not even checked my hand history for this (too busy playing / can't be bothered!) but if the riggies can find the effort then this is where I would look!

Nobody can prove if it is rigged, one way or another. However as a species we need to go back to believing what our eyes see and trusting our instinct. Therefore I'm out of online poker, goodbye.

It took you longer to write this post than it would to prove this.

Hello, I play at 888 poker but i can't seem to win no matter how good of hand i have. I'm constantly losing to hands like 2-9 or 8-6 off-suit hands like these all the time. I just seem to lose it's weird it's like the cards are manipulated to be honest. I played in a heads up game my last of my bankroll (heads up super turbo 500 starting chips) I was up 900 chips my opponent had 100 and he was going all-in every-time he came back and won my last hand was a-k he had 8-5 off-suit and flopped 8-5-5. I've been playing online poker for about 5 years but i think it's time for me to move on i was thinking of trying pokerstars i haven't played there yet but 888 is full of donkeys it's extremely hard to play especially when half the players at the table call your raises and if you go all-in with a premium hand pretty much the whole table calls what are the chances of winning. i think i found the reason i'm not winning and i think it's the 888 players they are mostly donkeys and fish they will call your all-ins are raises with any-hand and win most of the time i've seen it enough. That's the only reason i think i'm losing.

Anyone else have a hard time playing on 888poker?

Don't play hyper HU SNG when you cannot cope with the variance.

Are you playing low buy in tournaments and microstakes cash game? If you are getting called pre flop by 3-6 players with random hands, you are at a huge disadvantage because it is their 6-12 card starting hand against your premium hand. Of course, after the flop, the hands that missed will fold out when you continue your betting and you and the hand or hands that hit will be left. In that heads up match, that was just one crazy match on top of everything you have been through. It was just insult to injury. That is probably my best guess. Try playing a little higher in the MTTs, see if your raises are folding out more players pre flop. Good Luck!

Wait wait wait.

You're saying hands that see more streets are more likely to improve than hands that fold?

That can't be right. Definitely rigged.

That may be what you think. The reality is very likely to be that you are not as good at poker as you think you are, and your game is not good enough to win vs donkeys.

I could suggest moving up to where they respect your raises.

However, here is probably a better place to start: Beginners Questions Forum

Yeah 888 is definitely rigged and that is a nailed on fact. I saw more bull**** there then I've seen on skypoker, fullriggedpoker, and jokerstars combined.

They love those runner runner straight draw suckouts over at 888. Every time.
