Does Amaya realize that by raising the HU rake 100% they'll encourage longer waitings lists rather than people trying to get more games running? i dont get it

Wow, this is legitimately ****ing gross.
Such ****ing incompetence by them on this, and will just destroy long-term traffic. This is so horrible and just gross by Amaya, who're clearly trying to just bleed people for as much money as possible with no regard for players at all. Clearly have no regard for the game of poker either.
Regs won't play regs, even less than they already do, fish will either just lose money way faster, and to the site rather than the players, or just go straight to the casino because they realise they rake is that damn high.
"Yeah let's make it a casino, and spin & gos, and then rake poker way more so that people will be driven away from that into that casino", just to **** online poker and it's players as hard as possible.

I found a solution

I expect this to happen over time as well. Unfortunately once this occurs Pokerstars will once again convert back to a Poker friendly site and players will return like sheep. During this time period with added profits they are going to do well financially.

Hopefully another site opens up that does right by its loyal customers and people won't return. But generally poker players are always looking out for what's best for their bottom line at that given moment with little regard for past and potentially future transgressions.

I'd guess that if HU hypers stopped running today they'd lose somewhere between 30 - 60 million/year in rake.

We should consider writing politicians and gaming boards to encourage them to keep Pokerstars blocked from the USA poker markets.

It's not a spite move, it's out of every player's self-interest. It is also out of the sense that poker is a skill game, not a game where you have to beat the house first and last.

They are positioned to come in and sweep aside the competition here. That means we end up with a poker site in name only. Pokerstars is now basically a poker casino unless they start offering rakeback.

So stars is going to lose 60 million?

I do not think they know what they are doing. Its some business man saying hey if you do this we will make x amount and dont realize the effects of the traffic just disappearing

People should be aware that the "extra" UK tax is 15% of Stars revenues post VIP. There is no real justification at all for adding a charge for a rebuy or add on for UK players, the tax is on their revenues, not a tax on the prize pool.

With one rebuy and one add on the charge to UK players is effectively 300% more and the effective tax is 15%-VIP each extra charge they make increases their tax bill but they are taking far far more from us.

This is absolutely disgusting, a complete lie - it is not to make up the tax loss, one rebuy charge extra wipes out their effective tax bill by about 10x

Businesses should pay some tax! What they should not do is screw their customers for 10x that tax on every rebuy or add on, whilst also incurring a bit more tax because they are charging more so the player pays that too!

Prob is all the fish don't know the changes and they will still play because it's still called 'PokerStars'. That in turn will keep the regs there, a few might leave but it will make the site softer and therefore balancing out the additional rake because overall win rates should increase.

Looks like there in also no "No Blind Increase" SNGs anymore. My friend sent an e-mail to PS..this is what he got in response...
