Posting this hoping that some brave USA relocated grinder or maybe canadian one is willing to pull the trigger on one of these :

And let us know if the 30FPS (30hz @ 4k resolution) @ 3840x2160 and windows 7 poor DPI scaling issue are to bad for tiling Pokerstar's tables, think @ 699 this TV/monitor is still a steal anyways, reason I wish for some one else to test, instead of me buying and being the happy guinea pig, is because for me, due to customs/shiping costs it's gonna be in the 1.2/1.5k zone, so I wish I knew beforehand it's gona work for pokers before I order one to add or replace to my good old Dell 3007WFP. So far I've read at forums it works great for desktop ussage and it's wonderful playing back original 4k footage, while it's not that great upscaling 1080p blurays etc, but that's not what we want them for, they are also 3d capable @ 1080p and have a 120hz refresh rate at that resolution.

Thanks in advance and GL to anyone that goes for it .

ps: there is also a 50 incher if you are more of the "grind in the couch" kind of guy, for $1.2k.

4k res I'd want the 50 incher, an inexact comparison of the 30 inch 4k would be a 15 inch 1920x1080, really small objects.

One of my graphics cards is going bad. I currently have 2 of these http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814121244 and run 4 monitors (30, 27, 20, 20). As they are both pretty old, I'm just going to replace both of them. I'm not sure if all cards can be used along with another without causing problems and there are a whole lot of them to choose from. Could someone please tell me what cards to buy? I mostly only use my computer for poker but I play a lot of sites and 30+ tables at a time with stack and tile and hm2 (i'm not sure it matters for a graphics card though).

thanks for the help

You could downgrade both the processor and video card and be fine, but I'd never play poker on that screen.

Its just so small. I wouldn't personally play on anything less than 1920x1080.

Ah okay, been playing on a 1920x1080 so I'm guessing I'll notice a huge difference, may have to rethink things.

Have to echo DoGGz here.
If you're going to get a 17" laptop, 1st thing to do is to make sure that screen resolution is 1080p (or even better, 1200p although no-one makes those anymore).

Also, what you posted seems to lack in connections department. If you're ever going to run a high-res 24" or 30" external monitor w/ it, get one w/ displayport.

Also, get one w/ SSD (or make sure it has multiple HDD-bays and assembly one yourself), imo.

Whoops, somehow missed that.

I'd still prioritize it as far as components go.
E.g. go secondhand if that's what it takes to allow one in the budget.

I have an issue with cpu usage on my windows 7 laptop. When running the poker client is pretty high on its own, but if I have something like explorer/, Skype and/or hem program it reaches 100% and my computer lags and it's very difficult to play. Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? Do I need more memory or something?

if you needed more memory, your memory usage would be the one hitting 100%

you could post specs but that shouldnt happen without something super intense like hd video work or rendering or something

Ok, Thanks. I will Post later what i have found. I will Mainly Play MTT tiled (10-12 at once) and i Need a Big Monitor. I live in a Little Apartment and i Cant have a Tower pc because of Place, so the only Way is to get a Laptop and a separate Monitor to connect with. Another idea is to Play stacked, but i dont know of thats a Good idea

Thoughts on this computer?

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...03-133103%20RF

Seems like a really good deal but I know **** all about computers

Would like to add 4GB RAM, is that possible with ultrabooks?

Mostly <4 tables and heavy pt4 usage

Only for poker use

Whaat? Sure you can't torrent movies or load up a library of games but I've had a 120gig for years w no probs. You can buy an external HD to store crap on as well.

yeah hdd space is pretty person-dependent.

4gb ram is definitely not enough. my desktop is stuck with w7 atm (hdd with xp crashed) and its just way too slow for me.

looks like it doesnt say, but if it comes with 2x2gb sticks, you'd probably need to replace them with 2x4gb. pretty sure they only have 2 slots and i doubt they are giving you 1 4gb stick of ram.

i got a series 7 chronos new for $900 usd, quad core i7, 15" (not 1080p =( 1tb+8gb ssd for os, 8gb ram, all the same connections + hdmi out (not mini)

poker + hem is prob <5% cpu usage, ram is usually ~50% but i have 8-12 chrome tabs up + streaming. cpu only maxxes if i stream hd through hdmi and dont clone the screens.
